REI Members get back an estimated 10% on this item as part of their annual member refund.

    The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Amphipod SnapFlask Hydration Module - 10.5 oz. - Package of 2 is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from A poor choice for comfort and retention I am terribly disappointed in these flasks. For wearing around a campground or some other low-intensity activity, I'm sure they're fine. But they are not good for running or other higher-intensity activities. You can mount them on a belt two ways - vertically (they slide like mad) or horizontally (plastic grips keep them much more solidly where you put them). The problem with mounting them horizontally is that the nipple is easily loosened with vibration so they leak more, and there just isn't a whole lot of room on a belt to mount these sideways. In the vertical mount, they still will leak but only when nearly full. If you don't have two balanced with pretty much the same amount of liquid, they will pull the belt around and slip, which is extremely annoying on a long run. The worst problem, however, is the clip itself. You will lose bottles along your way. It does clip in with a firm click when you have it seated correctly, but it's also very easy to knock them out of the clip, particularly when empty. All it takes is the right light hit from your arm or some scrub, and the bottle is gone before you notice anything is wrong. The bottom line is that these work for light recreational use, but don't count on them for more than that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works well, part of a great hydration system I love these bottles and the Amphipod hydration belt. No other system provides such flexibility: you choose the combination of bottle size (10oz and/or 8oz), number, and mounting direction. In addition, the belt comes with a pouch for keys, phones, etc. I address both here, assuming they are generally purchased together??and a previous review addressed both as well. The bottles fit very securely. You can quickly learn to consistently pop a bottle into a bracket with a comforting "snap!" If you do not hear the snap then the bottle will eventually fall to the ground. My advice is to slide one side of the bottle until you feel its groove fit into one side of the bracket. Then push the other side in to lock the bottle into place (retry until it snaps in place). It is analogous to using "clipless" bike pedals. It is awkward at first, but within a few outings it is quick and requires little conscious thought. I occasionally need a couple attempts to snap the bottle into place, but I have only dropped a bottle once??ever. Once locked in place it is unlikely you will knock a bottle loose. In fact, getting a bottle out is tougher and generally takes squeezing the bottle slightly while pulling on one side. Occasionally a bottle will leak if too full or if the top is screwed on carelessly. I have not experienced this any more with these bottles than any other brand or type. It is also comforting to know in the worst case I can simply and inexpensively replace a bottle, if necessary, to keep the hydration system in good order. Bottom line on the bottle: excellent purchase that does the job as it should. You get size options, a secure fit, and it even fits on multiple hydration systems or belts. My one complaint is that the cap is not a one-way valve as some competitors have. One final note about the system and sliding. This can happen, but I found it slides more if the bottles are full and the belt is loose. Sliding generally stops if I tighten the belt a little, and maybe redistribute the bottles (adjust by sliding) slightly.
