- Rather than send 7 railroad cars full of thousands of bottles to landfills, we teamed up with Aladdin® to create the recycled and repurposed eCycle® travel mug
- Double-walled mug places repurposed polycarbonate in the outer body where it is completely out of contact with your beverage
- All food contact surfaces are 100% BPA free, including the inner body, which is made with recycled polypropylene

*Won't find a more environmentally friendly mug
*Extremely durable (think Nalgene strong, obviously)
*I cannot get it to leak (it was the first thing I attempted to do when I got home from buying it)
*Simple to clean, no small nooks and crannies for germs to make home.
*MICROWAVE & DISHWASHER SAFE!!!
*Aesthetically an aluminum one might be a bit cooler looking but they won't beat it out in the above categories or even compare to some

I love this mug! It's leak-proof, given that you properly close the thing. It's pretty light, as compared to the other bulkier REI mugs. I accidentally dropped it from the third-floor of my apartment building and it didn't break! It keeps hot liquids warm for a good amount of time...and I fill it up with regular cool water if I need it to function as a water bottle for the rest of the day. Also, it's BPA free (even though the store labels were a bit confusing). Overall, a great buy!

Why I love this mug:
+ Does not leak!!!
+ Can close with mouth piece orientated for both R handed and L handed drinking
+ Easy to close and open (meaning I don't struggle getting the top on tightly, and it doesn't get stuck when it is on tightly)
+ Easy to clean (both in dish washer and by hand)
+ Fits into car cup holder
+ Great feel
Only issue I have with it is that the pointy bit in the flip top does poke me in the nose. But I don't find it that annoying; especially given all of the other good things about the mug.
I have not had an issue with my drink getting cold... but then again it doesn't take me more than 20 min to drink 16oz of tea anyway.

I use the product to drink coffee and everything constantly. I buy coffee in the morning and then put the mug in my F-150 cup holder or in my lap (it never spills, EVER) or in my messenger bag side pocket while I ride my bike. I mix my drink by flipping the mug upside down and smirking. The lid is brilliantly designed, it has rubber to seal and plastic to hold the rubber. The gasket is both removable and replaceable, which means you can actually clean it, unlike other mugs. The lid is replaceable, see Aladdin's wonderful website. The lid lines up perfectly on mine and my husbands. I don't want to sound like a jerk but I think you have to be a little smarter than the lid. Maybe other cups are different but I know how to line it up for a left or right hand. It's pretty easy with practice. Did I mention it DOES NOT LEAK? Really. The only time you'll get some coffee out is if you fill it past the threads and then screw the top on. But duh, why are you doing that? Also- if you're having trouble with coffee flow, blow a little air into the tiny air hole. Sometimes it gets water trapped in it. The handle hooks well onto bike handlebars. It's the best mug ever. The lid screws on firmly, which is why it doesn't leak.

I have a cupboard full of travel mugs accumulated over the years, and now I use this one almost exclusively. It's super-durable, nice-looking and holds a generous serving of whatever beverage you're enjoying. The seals of the lid all fit tightly without making the lid too hard to remove. Love that I can put it in the dishwasher!

I was so excited about this travel mug. I had been searching for the perfect one and I thought I had found it. However, this mug leaks ALL the time, the mouth piece doesn't line up properly and it doesn't fit in my cup holder, especially with the ridges on the bottom of the cup. I have given it many chances to live up to my expectations...I am very disappointed.

I love the idea of this mug - recycled, without the bad plastics, and it is sturdy. But the design is just so flawed I am returning it. After numerous attempts to line up the drinking hole to be in the right relation to the handle, I give up; the flip-top is a great idea, but there is a little molded plastic point sticking straight up on the underside, which is perfectly aligned with my nose!! (And I have a small one).

I had been looking for a new microwavable mug and when I found this one I was even happier to learn that it was made from recycled materials. Unfortunetly, after using it for less than 4 months, its ready for the trash. As many others have noted the lid never aligned properly with the handle, but I could get past that minor flaw. The real let down was when my wife washed it and the insulated space filled with water. It had 2 hairline cracks along the top edge. No, it was never dropped or abused. Substandard construction!!! Will be calling REI to see if I can return it.

This is an attractive mug that I expected would serve me well.
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.
First, the wavy bottom makes the mug fall over in every cup holder I've placed it in; it's completely unstable. When driving, I have to keep one hand on it all the time or else I'll have coffee all over the car.
Second, the mouth opening doesn't line up correctly to be able to drink without contorting yourself. I've tried and tried, but the hole never goes in the right place. How stupid.
Third, the spout cover is difficult to flip open. I can't do it with just one hand. And it's hard to snap it so that it stays open, rather than the cover flopping onto your nose when you're drinking.
Finally, and most important to me, IT HAS **NO THERMAL ABILITIES** AT ALL! My coffer is COLD in less than 15 minutes! It's worse than a regular coffee cup. It's not even as good as a styrofoam cup.
I'm greatly disappointed and I am returning it.

This is a really cool concept to recycle old water bottles, however, this product is ineffective. It is supposed to be a travel mug, however, it doesn't fit in a standard car cup holder (makes it difficult to drive with) and kind of defeats the purpose of a travel mug. The bottom design makes it more likely to tip.
