Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

Brought this on a 7 day backpacking trip in Rocky Mountain National Park. Great for 2 people - it's an entire dining room in one compact setup. I must have the old model because the new picture shows sporks and I don't have any sporks. I want sporks.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

Used my dividend to buy this and well worth it.

The nesting design makes life so much easier. My compact stove and fuel compliments this product very nicely. I've taken it on two weekend trips so far where the cooking, cleaning up, and coffee in the morning has been an absolute breeze.

Love the product. The insulated mugs with lid works great for tea or coffee. The bowls have handy markings in the inside to indicate how many cups or ounces of fluid. The lid doubles as a strainer for rice or noodles (WORKS GREAT!). The storage sack doubles as a sink for cleaning up or carrying water (VERY HANDY). The nonstick pot is of highest quality.

    What a package!

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

I own the Dualist, and inside it I can fit: a LARGE fuel canister (8 oz), my Snow Peak Giga Power stove, two collapsible sporks, two insulated mugs, and two bowls -- all this fits perfectly inside the pot with strainer lid. Plus, the stuff sack is waterproof and doubles as a sink.

I am amazed at how well-designed, compact, and light this set is, especially considering that it's a complete backpacking kitchen and dining set for two people. I don't think any other company has put as much thought into designing a set specifically for backpacking (most sets are simply too bulky, and I always end up leaving most of the pots at home).

The set also appears to be quite durable: after several weekend trips, the pot, bowls, and mugs still look like new. At first, I was afraid the collapsible sporks would be too flimsy, but they have also lasted well, and I have come to like them.

I can't recommend this set more strongly. Pair it with an ultralight stove like the Giga Power, and you've got an amazing little system for two backpackers.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

We have used this set for 7 days straight while traveling from California to Denver on motorcycles, camping all along the way, and I have zero complaints. The design is compact and multi-functional. Each day, I discover yet another feature to love. The integration of the sink/storage sack was genius. Saved us having to purchase a separate wash/water carrier. The volume of the pot and sink are larger than they look at a glance. It will be our main mess/cooking system while traveling for a full year, so will check back with long term durability.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

Took this little guy on a 7 day hike in Southwestern CO and was happy to have him aboard! There were four of us on this hike and I bought the Dualist for my girlfriend and I to share. By the end of the first meal, all FOUR of us were using the dualist exclusively for cooking AND eating. We used the cups as 2 extra bowls and were able to get by with less dishes and save pack space! I would say pair this with the GSI Teakettle for coffee/hot drinks and you are set. Pros: Everything is great, even the included waterproof bag doubles as a kitchen sink; no more hands in the river scrubbing plates! Cons: Really only two little things keep this from being a 5-star rating. The size is a bit big for backpacking, but the multifunction does completely make up for the pack space and the included retractable sporks are a bit flimsy for anything but eating.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

I have had this for over a year now, multiple backpacking trips and many more camping trips. I am able to place a large fuel canister and my gigapower litemax stove inside. The pot is great for heating water, cooking large amounts of spaghetti, etc. The pot and bowls clean up very easily. I have used the storage bag for cleaning dishes as well as for holding water to let the sediment drop out before pumping it through my water purifier. The only issue I have is that the "cups" due to their high surface area do not keep hot drinks warm for very long. we have gone back to using regular mugs. Otherwise I would give it a "5" star rating.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

Although it's not the lightest, most high-tech, or slimmest, it's the best at what it does. More accurately, it's the best at what it does because no one else has taken the time to design a system that is so complete and inclusive.

Sure the mugs aren't really mugs and the set is slightly bigger than what I would like, but to have fuel (220g), a stove (a Snow Peak LiteMax), utensils, and cookware all fit into one unit is remarkable. And the fact that the handle also serves to lock in all the goods is a plus.

So far the pot has proven to be pretty non-stick. Also, I'm using my Snow Peak titanium sporks, not the GSI telescoping foons.

              I'd recommend this to anyone.

Comments about GSI Pinnacle Dualist Cook System:

This is a remarkably compact unit. My Primus Techno Trail II stove and one 110/220 gram fuel canister easily fit inside the unit which wastes very little space. The pot is well constructed with a durable handle that doubles as a locking lid to keep everything together. The coating on the pot is a relatively durable non-stick surface. Although the mugs are unusual due to their squat, bowl-like shape, they work perfectly well as sippy cups for hot beverages when used with the provided lids. The sporks aren't very durable (I snapped a prong on one when I first assembled it) but that's not what you're buying this system for anyway, is it? All in all, I have no complaints about the system but I wish I'd waited until their May 2009 sale when the price drops substantially.
