Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
Goes up quick. Good Design except even with rain fly, you get lots of air from the vents around the tent at the bottom of the fly. Only a summer/warm weather tent. Very good value though!
Service and delivery comments:
The carrying bag came with a cut in it right out of the box. A call to Alps and they are sendng out a bag to me.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
We did a 3 week road trip and we camped about 9 nights... the tent was easy to set up. only 2 poles for the tent and one more for the rain fly. It rained a few nights, and we didn't get wet at all... in fact one night I stood up in the tent and felt a giant puddle underneath, but we were dry inside. There aren't zip up covers for the windows, but the rain fly covers them, so you'll need the fly if you want privacy, but we needed it anyways so it wasn't a problem. It's roomy, tall, and comfy. The 2 door feature meant we each had a door and didn't have to crawl over one another for midnight bathroom runs. It's a great tent.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
First camp trip of the year was literally a wash. The wife and I are avid backpackers. We have tackled adventures in the Yukon, Alaska, Glacier NP and Patagonia. The addition of children has compromised our backcountry adventures a bit, but we still enjoy a car camp and light hikes with the kids. With a bigger crew, we recently bought a bigger tent. Our decision was made on size and price. The ALPS Mountaineering Meramac Tent fit the bill and was purchased from REI-Outlet.
In the Pacific Northwest, if you camp you are going get wet. Especially early in the season. Heading over the Chinook Pass through Mt Rainier NP, we found the Little Naches campground in Wenatchee National Forest. Great campground. Clean and large camp areas. Plenty of space for multiple vehicles at each camp area as well. Basically good for families. The Naches area of Wenatchee National Forest is gorgeous. A different feel from the wet side of the pass. More pine trees than fir. The rivers were full of runoff and the lupine was beginning to flower. The weather, however, was bi-polar: Warm and sunny or heavy rain and thunderstorms. The latter are fairly rare in the PNW. The ALPS Mountaineering tent was incredible in the weather and would highly recommend it. Totally dry through not one, but two thunderstorms. Study too. Not a second thought to throw the kids in the tent and listen to the wind and rain. The count between lightening and thunder with the kids was priceless. ALPS Mountaineering is not a brand name by any means, but then, Mother Nature does not care about the logo on the side of your tent.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
Needed a family tent and was drawn to the value offered. Was apprehensive of the water repelling claims. The first weekend we took it camping there was a major thunderstorm with significant rain, and the tent performed great. Everyone and everything remained dry. Would like to find the footprint for this tent, but have not had any luck.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
I was quite disappointed to see TWO floor seams running the entire length of the tent. This is shoddy design, the tent is not large enough to warrant two seams. While many of the seams were hot taped, the guy-out points were not. This tent would definitely benefit from more screening for ventilation. I paid [$], so I am satisfied.

Comments about Alps Mountaineering Meramac 6 Tent - Special Buy:
My wife and I took the Meramac 6 Tent on our very first family car camping trip to a state park with kids ages 11, 9, and 4. Very pleased with the ease of setup and the overall design of the tent. A cold front meant temps got down in the mid-40's -- condensation did not form inside the tent but a little formed on the inside of the rain fly. Tent with fly seemed well ventilated, maybe a bit too much for cool weather, but for warm weather it seems like it will be great. Plenty of room for the 5 of us plus 3 duffel bags and shoes. Would be a little tight with 6 adults, though. When I first received the tent I set it up outside and 30 minutes later it rained hard and no moisture got in the tent. At this price point, this tent is a fantastic buy.

This was an easy setup and perfect for summer camping. We had a terrible rain storm and stayed high and dry in the tent.
