Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
unlike the above poster, i found this pack had more than enough storage for the ten essentials, while also carrying a change of clothes (jeans, tshirt) as well as a full size towel and snacks for the days adventures. the reservoir is large and the pack is comfortable from trail head to summit!

Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
This is the first hydration pack that I purchased. I'm a gear junky and I research everything like crazy before I purchase. I was not disappointed. The pack is very light which did not keep me from throwing it in my pack on a 2 night trip in Yosemite. It was perfect for the Half Dome summit. I've used it skiing and a forget its on. It's more of a minimalist pack. It is able to fit food for the day, all of your essentials and your extra layers. My only complaint is that the additional pockets at are included aren't very useful. I can't fit much in them. An interior valuables pocket for a wallet, keys and cell phone would be a bonus. Overall, its a great pack.

Comments about CamelBak Octane 8+ Hydration Pack - 70 oz.:
I planned to use this product for day trips and light hiking. I hoped it would also serve to pack some gear and clothing in to. However, the size of the compartment, even when unzipped, is extremely small. My school backpack has much more space. The camelbak water compartment works very well. I would recommend just getting a camelbak that is strictly for water. I have one and it works very well, but the backpack version is useless because you can't fit much more than a notebook in it.
