The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about REI Organic Merino Wool Light Hiking Mini Crew II Socks:
I tested these socks this weekend and they came through with flying colors.
I took a 16 miles hike up a rocky trail with over 2000 feet of elevation gain wearing a 20 pound pack. There was hardly a level, smooth part of the trail so it was very stressful on feet and shoes. Temperature varied from high 50's to low 80's.
There was no friction between these socks and my feet and toes. Even at the end of my hike, coming down hill, I experienced no hot spots. My toes felt cushioned and I did not notice any build up of sweat, even though it was over 80 degrees F. I was really impressed.

Comments about REI Organic Merino Wool Light Hiking Mini Crew II Socks:
I mainly bought these to help me endure the icy cold daily walks to and from work as well as endure my chilly office (I work nights and our building has poor insulation so it is always drafty), but I never want to take them off.
They fully lived up to my expectations. I just can't stomach spending $16-25/pair for smartwool so I bought a few different varieties of REI merino wool socks of varying construction and blends and these ones are my favorite. They are versatile enough to wear in a wide range of conditions and the fit is excellent. I have very large calves so crew socks are pointless since they start bunching around my ankles as soon as I stand up and these mini-crew height are perfect.
Good design keeps them from bunching and slipping even when I'm wearing loose-fitting casual shoes. I am yet to detect any moisture at all after a days wear, so they pass with flying colors on the moisture wicking factor. Construction seems very solid, but I haven't really worm these long enough to determine how well/long they wear over time.
I got a couple pairs of factory seconds from REI-outlet at a price where I could buy three pairs for the price of one pair of comparable smartwool socks and they have no discernible defects (other than the fact that the colors are hideous which is really my only complaint). I also appreciate the usage of organic materials.

Comments about REI Organic Merino Wool Light Hiking Mini Crew II Socks:
Used day to day and for day hiking. Nicely made. But, I found this sock holds foot odor much more than any of the other REI or Life's Good brands crew socks.
No, I don't have foot odor problems. Which is why I probably detected it. When I take off other REI socks I own, after a long day in summer, sure, they are no bed of roses. But this particular sock was noticeably more smelly.
It was so much worse that, I returned them for a different REI Merino Wool Crew sock I have used before. No problems.

I've used these socks both every day and while hiking backpacking. So far they are holding up perfectly and do a good job at keeping my feet warm and dry.

Comments about REI Organic Merino Wool Light Hiking Mini Crew II Socks:
I love these socks, the mini crew size covers my ankles and are better for walking in spring in south eastern Australia than a full crew sock. Great colour, sizing perfect, very comfortable. Not sure how long they will last as I am wearing them often!

Comments about REI Organic Merino Wool Light Hiking Mini Crew II Socks:
Recently used these on a hike out in SMNP and they are wonderful!
The first day of the hike was 2600 feet up in 4.7 miles, and at the end, my feet still were ready to go. The temperatures were hot, but you'd have a hard time convincing my feet of that fact. These socks stayed dry, and kept my feet firmly in my boots.
Even when I got them wet, they wicked the moisture away in a timely fashion, and I was able to avoid any dreaded hotspots and ultimately did not receive any blisters, or any wear spots on my feet.
Love these socks, and will definately be buying them again!
