The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System - Package of 4:
Use this to bring any liquid up into the wilderness. Once you've emptied it, its lightweight (unlike a bottle or flask) and easily packed out.

Comments about Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System - Package of 4:
We have been using the Platypus system for several years to carry wine and other beverages on backpacking and paddling trips. Well into our trip to the floor of the Grand Canyon we spoke briefly with some fellow hikers along the way and mentioned that a little wine at the end of the trail will make everything feel a little better. They laughed, and said "you don't actually have wine bottles in those packs, do you?" We could only smile. After three seasons and many trips, one of the Platypi sprung a small leak and we will be replacing it. Otherwise, we don't hesitate to put these containers full of red wine in our packs as we've never had a problem with leaking. We've merely rinsed with water (the instructions warn against using any kind of soap) after using and allowed them to dry really well without the lids before storing; we've never had any problem with aftertastes.

I used this product on new years. We were outside and i didnt want my wine in glass bottle or have to carry a glass. It was pretty awesome to just be able to not worry about your drink spilling. I love that it can fit into a coat pocket! I will use these a whole lot! Any hiking or outdoorsy wine drinker needs one of these!

Comments about Platypus PlatyPreserve Wine Preservation System - Package of 4:
I use Platypii (?) for hiking and camping, and appreciate their lightweight design and compressibility. I don't usually drink entire bottles of wine at a go, so this seemed like a good way to preserve my viniferous investments. And note--buying four this way is cheaper than purchasing individual Platypii; and it's the exact same product. These little guys preserve wine well in a fridge for at least a week. I've tried reds and whites. Ports are another story--I have a vintage port that's been in a Platypus for three weeks now with no appreciable signs of decay. But ports are more robust than mere ordinary wines anyway. I have a friend who's a wine snob (I mean, connoisseur) and she was pleasantly surprised by the staying power the Platypii confer. I also have never noticed an aftertaste, and I always clean the mouth with dish soap when rinsing the Platypus out.The only hang-up is getting all the air out when you're closing it, without getting some wine out too. It takes some doing and I still don't have the knack. A "Pro" I wasn't able to describe in the field above is that in this container, red wine looks *exactly* like blood ready to be transfused. It's really cool in a gross kind of way and I never fail to point this out when serving it. Sometimes I get more of the wine for myself this way. Buy this product if you want a lot of Platypii you can use for any kind of beverage. Keep wine in your fridge, and use the others for camping, hiking etc., as you would your other Platypii.
