  • Nylon mesh linings wick perspiration away and expedite drying time
  • Padded gusseted tongues relieve lace pressure while keeping trail debris out
  • Compression-molded C-Cap® EVA midsoles, with ABZORB® cushioning at the heels and forefeet, absorb excess shock to maximize comfort
  • Composite ROLLBAR® and 3/4-length Rock Stop nylon plates stabilize heels, control overpronation and protect feet from stone bruising
  • Rubber outsoles are lightly lugged for traction on varied terrain; Ndurance™ rubber provides superb durability in high-wear heel area

Comments about New Balance 955 Gore-Tex Country Walker Shoes - Men's:

These are attractive, comfortable shoes, but are not durable. I returned my pair after five weeks because of major wear on the outer part of the heel of both shoes (about 1/16 inch of the sole remained in that area). I weigh 145 lbs and wear custom orthotics, so I do not believe I was putting unusual stress on the shoes. However, I do walk about 20 miles per week on sidewalks and roads. If you are going to wear these shoes casually, they might do; otherwise look elsewhere.

    I broke the outside metatarsal bone in my right foot. Opted for healing without a cast, but all of my shoes were painful. I remembered the legend of NB's roomier toe area and bought a pair of these at the Denver store. Great fit, no pain. Thinking of buying a second pair.
