Comments about La Sportiva Cascade GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
After trying on several different backpacking boots and testing on the REI hiking trail, I found these boots to be the lightest, most comfortable of the seven I tried on. So far I have taken them on a 8 mile hike, and was quite comfortable. My feet were a little sore at the end of the hike, but I attribute that to never breaking them in prior and not being use to that long of hikes considering I am just starting out. a good test will be later when I go to High Divide Loop this summer for 2 nights. I am confident that these boots will do great!

Comments about La Sportiva Cascade GTX Hiking Boots - Men's:
I was a little hesitant to buy these at first, because my heel didn't seem to pocket well and slipped a bit. However, they were so comfortable out of the box, and very light for how Frankenstein boot heavy they look, I took a chance and I'm glad I did. For a while I was a firm believer in shaving as much weight off your feet as possible, but these boots have spared me so much foot pain I find myself wearing them even on day hikes. Consistently I stroll into camp after a long day, feeling like I could do another 5 miles easy and forget to even take them off or loosen the laces, and only does it cross my mind to do so, when everybody else starts nursing their feet and slipping on their camp shoes as they moan about how much their feet hurt. By the way, I feel like I've saved some weight with these boots by not really feeling like I need to bother with camp shoes anymore.
My only complaint is that I got a manufacture flaw in one that made it less than waterproof. So, I would recommend standing in a tub for a bit and test for leaks before you spend weeks breaking them in.
