Comments about SmartWool StandUP Socks - Women's:

I have just had several wearings of these socks and am totally pleased with them so far. They are a medium-weight, not at all sheer and not at all bulky; no bunching up at the toes, no falling down of the sock as I wear it during the day (this is my most common complaint for higher-length socks).
The socks gives a snug grip throughout their entire length - this feels tight-ish at first, but quickly becomes comfortable. None of that "elastic band at the top" feeling. I have pretty slender legs, so this might be too snug for someone with a heavier leg, but you should give them a try.
Pants seem to glide fairly smoothly over them without clinging (as when you go to cross your legs or are going up stairs and socks fabric would otherwise tend to "grab" the pant's fabric).
These socks are about 1" shorter than most knee-height ones I wear, but this is fine since they do not fall down or droop. I have not put them through many washings or wearings yet, but I have a really good feeling about these socks.
I have been wanting black, stay-up, mid-weight socks for a long time and these are them :-)
I am ordering myself more of them.
