Comments about SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Socks:
I wear a size 10 trail running shoe and the large PHD socks fit me perfectly. I am hard to please, always looking for the right trade off of light cushioning and thin fit. I find that even some ultra light cushioned socks to take up too much room for me, particularly in the toe box, but I can't stand uncushioned thin socks. These offer the best trade off that I have found to date. I have not used them long enough to rate the durability, but when a sock fits right and offers some cushioning, as these do, I am thrilled and willing to replace them often if necessary. Two thumbs up!

Great socks, keep your feet dry and comfortable during long walks or hikes. Even during normal use while at work they are great.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Socks:
Great socks. i don't like "micro" socks, and these are the perfect height for me. they are very soft and they won't smell even after a long run or workout.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Socks:
In a quest to find the thinnest, lightest socks out there, I bought these. No cushion means no bunching, no blisters, and I love them. Problem is they have less than 200 miles on them and one heel is worn through. Although I'm sure plenty of people on this site can, I certainly cannot afford to scrap my socks every month. So yes, I would recomment this to a rich friend.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Running Ultra Light Mini Socks:
I bought these as I wanted a well wicking, light sock for summer running. I wear size 11 Brooks Beasts so purchased the Large of this product (up to size 11.5 foot). They're way too small and cause me blisters because my toes are so compressed.
They're also showing a disturbing amount of wear under the heel. Perhaps it's because they're so thin to begin with, though it could also be they're my first pair of black socks so wear is more noticable.
Either way, I've since gone back to Thorlo socks and won't look back.
While these socks seem very well made they're still very abrasive on my feet even after quite a few washes but this could just be the nature of wool. They're no good to me for running though as they're just not up to their advertised size.
They're certainly not bad socks, just make sure you buy the larger size if you're at the top end of one.
