    Comments about REI Outrigger Bucket Hat:

    Wow, the perfect bucket hat. The brim is just the right size and stiffness and it stays flat, not rippled, when down. The brim folds up on both sides without need for the buttons at all, but in heavier winds, the buttons are a nice option. I have not found it to be hot in the summer sun unlike a lot of hats and although it isn't waterproof, it holds up in rain. It feels a bit snug and the next size up was loose, but it is comfortable and I never have to use the chinstrap. The chinstrap is not removable, but once you remove the adjustment grommet, the chinstrap just stows in the hat with no trouble.

      Comments about REI Outrigger Bucket Hat:

      I bought one on clearance 2 years ago and I wear this hat a lot in the summers. My friends make fun of me because they think I look like a goof with a bucket hat on. Despite this, the hat offers good sun and rain protection. It will get a bit warm under there, however, and my only wish is that it was a bit more breathable. Also, some of the buttons have started to rust a bit after letting the hat stay damp for a day or two.

      One thing I especially like is that I can easily fold it up and stow it in a cargo pocket if I don't need it at a particular moment.
