I've worn Keen Newport H2s for a number of years and I've loved them. They are hands down the most comfortable shoes I own. Their drawbacks have been that they are HOT and a little clunky looking. I was really looking forward to wearing Keen's new Whisper shoe. It has a really nice look to it and is much more open than the Newport (and hopefully not as hot during the heat of the summer). I was really disappointed that the arch support in the Whisper is significantly less than other Keen's I've worn. The sole also did not feel as substantial. I wore them around the house for about an hour and decided that these shoes are not for me. As cute as they are, they don't provide the comfort I've come to expect from Keen. I will be returning these shoes.

I needed a water shoe for a week-long trip to Lake Powell involving hiking, rock scrambling, and water. I debated buying these for the longest time because I think they are the ugliest shoes I have ever seen and I had a hard time justifying [$] for ugly shoes. Low and behold, these things are awesome. They were comfy even after zero break-in and they were the only shoes I wore the entire week. I like them because they protect my toes, which was a requirement. They also dry out and wash off easily, and are super lightweight. They were comfortable and durable and the perfect shoes for this trip.Cons: It is hard to remove rocks that get inside the shoe, although that can also happen with Tevas and other water shoes. Also, I almost got an 8.5 (I wear a 9) because of other reviews saying they fit a half-size smaller, but I got the 9s and they fit me beautifully...when I'm standing still. When walking, the shoe somehow manages to push my foot back so that it feels as if my heel is falling out. It seems like buying an 8.5 would have made this situation worse, not better. Still, I found them okay, despite this oddity. Oh, and did I mention that they are ugly?

These are the most comfortable water-type sandals I've ever owned. No break-in period required. Like my old Keens I wear a 1/2 smaller in these as well. My only complaint is the sole is not thick enough for hiking on rocky surfaces -- I bought these to replace a 3-yr-old Keen full-sandal I wear hiking and these don't quite work as well. But still a great shoe for everyday wear.

Bought these for a trip to Alabama, staying on the Dog River. They are the only shoes I took and they went from miles of walking at the airport to slogging around the muddy shore of the river. We did miles of sight seeing via recumbant bicycle and soles of shoes had good traction and did not slip from pedals. After canoeing the mud washed right off, looked good as new on return flight. I say these shoes are a MUST for comfort, cool ventilation, and versatility. Pack lite and go for it.

I really wanted to get the Keen Venice shoes because I like their colors and design so much better. Venice also has a nicer foot bed. But, it wasn't meant to be with my narrow feet.

The salesperson told me these shoes run half a size small (true).

I was looking for traveling shoes in hot and humid monsoon season. These are great. I have to disagree with other reviewers who say these shoes work on the beach. I took them to the park and sand and bark chips kept going into my shoes and not being able to come out. I kept having to take them off.

In all, these shoes are very comfortable and I wear them almost daily around town. I love that it's light (lighter than Venice and Newport) and airy and so easy to slip on/off. And best of all, my toes are protected.

I got these as a gift for my fiancee prior to our big river and hiking trip and she loves them. She has really bad foot, knee and back problems from a previous accident and her work standing on her feet for 14 hours a day. When wearing these on our 10 mile paddle and 5 mile hike we didn't stop once. She was out in front the whole time and didn't have a single complaint the next day. They are true to size (she wears a size 9 and they fit her perfectly), supportive foot bed, and did not need any break in time at all.

I've had the Keen Venice H2 for years and finally wore them out. Tried the Whispers. Cuter shoe than the Venice. Tried it several times, but with my really high instep and arch- my foot would not fit down into the shoe. My heel hung off the back of the shoe, but I still have more than enough room in the toe box. Returning for the Venice H2 again!

I mostly use the shoes for boating and walking on beaches. I have very flat feet and this is the first 'Keen' shoe I have ever been able to wear. The Whisper has a very low arch allowing my feet to be very comfortable. I hope you keep this shoe for those of us with flat feet.
