Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
This is my second pair of Teva sandals of this type. The first was perfect, the second one purchased at REI was very poorly made. The "ankle" hole was so small I had to take a knife to them to get them on. Once on, they feel finej. Very disappointed in this sandal --

Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
I bought them to hike into the Grand Canyon via the Siupi trail. Assuming that some water crossings would be necessary, I looked for a sandal that would do double duty.
I ended up wearing my sandals for the entire 25 mile hike and couldn't be more pleased. This is the most comfortable trail footwear I've ever used.
Odor issues, yes, but nevertheless I'm hooked on these sandals.

Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
My former Teva sandals fell apart within one year (soles delaminated) Teva took them back and gave me full credit for a new pair. Great customer service; they freely admitted that REI received a batch with defective glue -- they made no excuses -- and said it had been corrected. So I took a chance on another pair.
The newer Omniums are fantastic -- I wear them constantly, everyday. Best feature: They are very adjustable, so you can adjust the "snugness" for your use. This is critical for me, because I have foot problems. Because of this -- plus close toe and firm arch support -- I can strap them down tight, and even use them for hot-weather light trail running and light biking! Sufficiently snugged up, they won't slip or cause blisters. They aren't designed for these uses, but work amazingly well.
As you would expect, for boating, river and other water use, they can't be beat. I work them canoeing in the Boundary Waters, where they were perfect -- cool, waterproof and well-drained, but still plenty of solid support for the portages carrying a canoe or packs over rocks.
Minor drawback: After being submersed, they don't dry quickly, due to thick fabric in places. You have to put them in the sun to dry.
For beach use, you're better off with flip-flops. These are clunky, sand gets caught in the snaps, and it's a pain to constantly reach down to snap them on and off.
My kids think they look too funky, but I find I can wear them almost everywhere.
After 1 year of very hard, constant wear, the new Omniums so no sign of delaminating, anywhere. They are proving very durable.
Caveat: I'd give them 5+ stars, but honestly my wife would probably give them a 2 due to the lingering odor problem: Teva improved their anti-bacterial treatment, so the odor is less severe than with the earlier versions -- which quickly became unbelievably stinky; a real embarrassment -- but is still a significant drawback. For some reason, these stink worse than any other sandals I've owned. Even the new ones need to be scrubbed with a toothbrush and detergent once every few months. Instructions are on Teva website.
(PS. I rarely write reviews, only when a product is exceptionally good or bad.)

Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
I used these for my 2010 solo thru paddle of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail (740 miles) and I must say that these were awesome! They protected my feet much better than the open toe sandals that I used to wear. Traction was great on the 120 miles of up-river lining and wading in the rivers.
They held up perfectly for my 2 months on the trail and I'm still using them today on the river.
My only advice is that once they get a little use, they are more comfortable wet. So, if you are looking for a city sandal where you can look like you actually do cool stuff, this is probably not the sandal for you. But if you are truly going to use this sandal for what it is meant, you will be more than satisfied.

Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
I have owned a pair over a year and wear them every day. Use them when Kayaking, wade fishing in salt water and playing golf. They have held up well with none of the sole separation noted by others. Since I have been in salt and fresh water, I believe they have been adequately tested. Obviously I find them very comfortable.

I worked in these sandals for 5 months last year, and wore them 6 days out of the week. They stay on in knee deep mud and never seem to let the big rocks in. They seem to have held up really well too, I have had problems with the soles falling off on other TEVA products but not with these. I've been very pleased. I think they look cool too.

I have owned this pair of Teva Sandals for a little over a year. I've been to Yosemite, Alaska, England, Scotland, Ireland, France, and Italy, wearing them in a variety of conditions and on a variety of surfaces. By far they are the most comfortable sandal I have ever worn. The only cons are the smell and the little stones that frequently get in the shoe.

The Omni sandals look good, have good fit and are comfy. I like the cushioning and adjustment that the sandal has. You can really hike not too technical trails with it.
The problem is that sole has separated after 5 months of use. I admit to using if often during that time, but did not put it to too much harsh terrain or something.
I do love Teva flip flops but will think twice when buying another Teva sandal again.

Comments about Teva Omnium Multisport Sandals - Men's:
I have had these sandals with me for the past month and a half while hitch hiking from Milan, Italy to Istanbul, Turkey. My pack was averaging 35lbs and I weigh 210 lbs. Naturally when your not getting picked up your doing a lot of hiking. I went through a vast assortment of terrain in Eastern Europe and found these sandals served me extremely well. They dried rapidly following thunderstorms in Slovenia, and anyone who complained earlier, and believes sandals are going to keep the water out while kyaking is being a bit to wishful, considering sandals are not meant to keep water from touching your pedicured feet. I did pick up a slight smell, not very noticeable, but that should be expected when wearing any type of shoe barefoot... if your ever traveling long distances by foot I highly recommend a sandal similar to this pair, but while also wearing socks. This prevent blisters, smells, and provides an added level of comfort. I usually pack numerous socks and discard them as I go, simultaneously lightening my pack and providing more room during the homestretch.
My experience with some highltighted areas of concern
I had no durability issues
They dried quickly
They were comfy and broke in immediately upon innitial wear
Slight smell was expected
