Comments about Keen Ferndale Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I wear these shoes almost every day because they are so comfortable. I have a great challenge when it comes to finding shoes that fit because I have a wide foot with a fused big toe. Most shoes do not fit me at all. This fit like a glove. The soft leather and the mesh enclose my feet so nicely. I did have to add an arch support to achieve maximum comfort. I understand this shoe is an EXCLUSIVE for REI! Someone came up with a great idea, and I hope Keen expands it to other colors! I have to try not to wear them everyday!

This is one of the most comfortable shoes I own. I use it for light hiking and everyday wear. It is cool and provides good support for long hikes. It is quickly becoming my favorite pair of shoes.

Comments about Keen Ferndale Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I used these for light hikes and everyday use. The lace system never held tight so I had to replace them because otherwise they were unstable. The worst part was the fact that the soles heels collapsed causing the shoes to squeak uncontrollably and have uncomfortable squish on each step. It's a nice light shoe, but I'm otherwise disappointed.

Comments about Keen Ferndale Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
These shoes are really fantastic! I was slightly concerned with the lock mechanism laces, but I've had them over 2 months and haven't had any problems. These shoes are very light, and measure up to the expected quiality of a Keen shoe. Considered getting another pair!

Comments about Keen Ferndale Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I bought these as an alternative to the Keene's Newport sandels which have a redesigned footbed that it very uncomfortable to me now. These are very lightweight and cool for summer wear. If you wear these without socks as I do, you will need to wash the removeable innersole often due to the stinky feet smell you will get. I use these for camping and weekend projects around the house so they do get a lot of wear, but are very comfortable. I like the cordlock lacing system as well. If you put on socks, it's easy to adjust the fit, simply release the cordlock for a custom size.
I hope that these will last longer than my old Keenes sandals which wore out around the lacing area. I have not had them all that long, about 2-3 months now, so we will see.

Comments about Keen Ferndale Cross-Training Shoes - Men's:
I have narrow feet so I bought them a 1/2 size smaller for a better fit.
For support & to make up for the extra width I replaced the Keen insole w/ a SuperFeet Orange & OdorEater insole. This provided me w/ support & comfort. Also, it compensated for the extra width.
I feel safe using them for short trips walking/hiking in moderate terrain.

This shoe deserve more than one review, here's mine, had my pair less than a week so cannot comment on the durable factor yet. I like to ride my motorcycle to my hiking spots, hoping my shifter won't wear out the top. Anyway for doing hiking/runing on trails or just wearing I could not ask for more. They fit my wide, med- high arch feet great straight out of the box, a hour after buying them went for a aprox. 6 mile hike to try them out, past the test with ease, love keens, these Ferndales are my favorites so far. At [$], its cheap enough not worry about. Ill report back when I have a lot more time, miles on them. Did not want to wait, for summer will be over soon plan on wearing as long as I can before switching over to my warmer Keens
