I use my Giro Phase Helmet for trail mountain biking. The detachable visor does add great protection from the sun. Sunglasses and earphones work great with it. There are no issues with fit. I would highly recommend this product to any recreational cyclist! I am 100% satisfied with this product!

This was the most comfortable helmet under $100 that I tried on in the store. It just fit my head well with no areas too loose or too tight.
One thing I really like is that you can take the visor on and off really easily. I like wearing the visor while mountain biking for protection from branches and whatnot but don't like it for commuting on road so I just snap it off in half a second! The helmet looks great with visor on or off, you can't really tell it's supposed to have a visor when you take it off.
I agree with some other reviewers that it's not quite as breathable as it would appear from all of the vents but it's much better than the cheap helmets.
I've worn a heavy duty mountain bike light on top of the helmet and having all of the vents really helps for being able to position the light in the right spot so it's not too far forward or backward.

make sure it fits your head properly - some folks have oval heads and others more elongated. Mine is oval and it fits great. get the straps adjusted properly for good fit that keeps helmet from dropping down into your vision. Play with extra pads. haven't tried with GoPro on top, yet. We'll see how it carries the extra weight

Helmet works as it shoud- Fit is comfy, and secure. Visor does a great job keeping rain off my glasses. Just DO NOT look in the mirror. Very large-looking, and well, ugly. I ride solo in BFE so this doesn't really matter.

This helmet has a good fit, feels nice, and is definitely rugged, but it's heavy compared to others like the Bell Influx ($65) or Giro Hex ($90). The difference in weight is only about 30 grams, but it is pretty noticeable.
I've used the Phase twice while mountain biking through shaded single track trails and each time my head felt very hot and sweaty. It touts having a lot of ventilation holes, but I can't say that they helped much because the padding in the helmet would be drenched with sweat.
I'd recommend this helmet to anyone who isn't biking very hard since it can get pretty warm.

The inner carriage that the "micro adjuster" tightens is weak and mine broke after a few months of usage. I think the helmet overall looks pretty big on a normal sized head--I prefer helments that are smaller and tighter fitting. NOw that the inner plastic ring is broken it pokes into my head every time I wear it and I plan on returning it. Pretty shady for a 75 dollar helmet!
