I've had this rack on my bike about a year now. It has served me very well & is holding up nicely. My only gripe is that the swiveling latch that holds the U-Lock under the rack broke off! I think I used it only that one time and then it broke! I can still keep my U-lock mounted underneath with a small bungee cord, though, so it hasn't been too much of an inconvenience. The QuickTrack system is the most user-friendly, well-thought-out, and handy way to attach/detatch the trunk bag! That alone makes it worth it!

I can't add much to the other reviews as they are spot on. It's not too hard to install and is very solid. The under-deck u-lock storage is awesome, but the clip+reflector that holds it in is garbage and fell off within a couple weeks of commuting.I mostly bought it for the locking track bag mounting system and considered the u-lock a bonus. If you don't want the u-lock storage or side support (for panniers) then go for the much cheaper version [@]

Very nice rack. Topeak inter-locking system works great. Built in u-lock is very convenient, and no better way to go if you also need a new lock. Just a few complaints over the past year: This rack is louder than the typical rack with the lock rattling around, and the clip that secures the lock fell off on a ride (the rack stay put without it). Also, the lock gets in the way a little with the use of panniers.

There is a noted problem with the latch that holds in the U-Lock. They did not use the latch correctly. There is NO PROBLEM with it. It has been in place on my bike for well over 6 months during summer, fall, and winter.

I do want to let people know that if you plan on using non Topeak bags (like the Timbuk2 Bullitt Pannier I use) you will either need to weld bars in place for it to ride on or you will need to take the bags off each time you want to use the U-Lock. I had bars welded in place.

This is the greatest item I didn't know I was looking for until I found it. I have a smaller-sized commuter/hybrid bike, and my U-lock just wouldn't fit on the frame. Because of the size of the lock, the carrying bracket that came with the lock wouldn't fit on my small bike frame, and I had been toting this heavy lock around in my backpack for as long as I had my bike. Along with that, the cargo rack on my bike had fallen off twice due to a bad securing design. When I saw this rack, I realized it was exactly what I was looking for - a very strong rack plus the ability to hold a U-lock at the same time. I haven't had it long, and I am worried about the clip holding the lock breaking, as the other reviewers mentioned. There are good installation instructions for the rack, but NO instructions about the lock or lock-retaining clip, other than how to attach a light in place of the included reflector. I think the lack of instructions leads to problems, because you have to tighten the mechanism, and I just had to guess how to do it. Otherwise, this is a very solid rack, simple to install. It rides high on my small-framed bike, but some other kinds I had tried were too short. I spray-painted the attaching pieces black, because I didn't like how they were silver and the rest of the rack (and my bike) are all black. I like this concept and just hope the lock-retaining clip holds up!
