Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
We bought this small pack several years ago when my son was about 5 so he could start carrying his own things on hikes. It fits his trail lunch, a light jacket, some emergency supplies (small first aid kit, whistle, emergency blanket, etc), water bottles, a hat and other misc items with plenty of room to spare. When he was 7 he used this pack on his first overnight backpacking trip with me, and it fit his sleeping bag (which is an ultra compressable kids model that weighs 1.1 lbs) his clothes, his small teddy bear and water and trail snacks just fine. I strapped his sleeping pad to my pack but it probably could have gone on the outside of his I just felt he was already carrying enough. Although a hip belt would be nice, with such a light kids load it isn't really necessary and he had a great time on that first backpacking trip.
He is now 10 years old and though he still likes to use this pack (he is very slim and the size of this pack fits his small back perfectly), it has mostly been passed down to his younger 6 year old brother who loves it too. The pack is still in perfect condition, no unraveling seems or broken buckles. Of course, we only use it for hiking and day trips, not for school, so it does not get hard daily use but the kids are not exactly gentle with it out on the trail so I'm amazed at the quality and how well it's held up. People often comment on what a great looking pack it is too! I've even been known to use it myself when I don't need/want my bigger day pack. I'm 5'8, 140 lbs and it fits me fine.
The only things I might change about this pack is to either include a hydration pocket inside the pack for a small bladder and/or increase the size of the side water bottle pockets. The water bottle pockets are a little on the small side and so can not hold a very large water bottle. We have put a 1 liter hydration bladder inside the pack on some trips, held in place by things packed around it and that worked decently well, but a designated pocket would be a nice extra feature.
Over all this was one of the best things I bought for my son when he was still just getting into hiking and I feel the quality was well worth the price I paid. We love this pack!

Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
I bought this backpack looking for something small enough to lug with me everywhere, and large enough to hold whatever I might need, for school, camping or traveling. I am 5'1 and this pack it perfect. I can fit my laptop, school books, and a out layer in this. I can buckle my yoga mat to it. It is very well made and comfortable. I wish it had a waist strap, but it stays put with just the chest strap while walking or biking. I also wish it came with a rain cover. Other than that, perfect for this adult!

Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
I bought this pack from my son when he was 5 and we began taking day hikes. I wanted him to learn to be responsible for his own gear, and I also got tired of stopping and taking off my pack every time he wanted a snack. He loves this pack. He can load it up and it is still comfortable to carry. He started Cub Scouts this year, and we used it to pack his clothes and great for a camping trip. It is a good size for a young child and had enough pockets for his little "treasures." It looks nice, and seems well made.

Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
My little boy looks amazingly cute in this cool pack. The clips are even really easy to clip and un-clip for his little 4 year old hands. He loves loading it and unloading it and wearing it. He is very comfy in it. Will even wear it around the house playing and outside gardening with his toys in it. :)
It's great b/c he is responsible for something on our trips and that makes him feel competent and good and occupies him with something.

Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
Bought two these packs for my 4 & 6 year old. They are very high quality, and the kids love them, they want to carry some of thier own stuff and this lets them feel like they are really envolved in the adventure.
I only wish they were hydration capable and had a waist belt. They don't carry much so this is only trivial stuff.

Comments about Deuter Junior Pack:
We purchased this pack for our 3 year old photo safari guide tag-along (my son). I wanted to get him something he could carry his own gear in: sleeping bag, water, treats, clothes, etc. It works out great! He absolutely loves it and doesn't complain about carrying it up to the first 2 miles. Then it goes on our pack (but at least we don't have to carry it for 2 miles). After a while he carries it again so it's all good. He's 3, can't ask for more than that!
This is one of the finest packs I've ever seen. Very well built! Very well thought out! Excellent in every way.
We're seriously considering changing all our backpacks we've been using for the past 15 years with Deuter packs based upon my 3 year old's pack. How's that for a recommendation!
