Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
Sorry about the duplicate review, but I can't find a way to edit my old review of these gloves. After four weeks, the stitching along the index finger seams has begun to unravel. I like the light weight, but the durability doesn't seem to be there. [...]I took them back today and I'll be trying the Novarra house brand for a while.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
These gloves are okay, but for the same price I can get a pair of Louis Garneau's Air Gel Carbons, which seem to be much better thought out. (I bought these Pearls because my local shop was out of the LGs.)
I have 2 main beefs with these: the area on the back of the thumb that's intended to be a sweat wipe is very rough, and the lack of reflective surfaces. The latter is a problem most cycling gloves share, for reasons I can't begin to understand, but the LGs are much better than these -- again, at the same price.
As for the rough sweat band, I don't know what Pearl was thinking. It seems they just weren't. These are by far rougher than any other glove I've owned, including other Pearls. Again, the LGs are head and shoulders better.
One last thing: the LGs also provide a handy leather tab on the middle finger for pulling the gloves off quickly and easily. A nice touch that suggests to me they just thought their product through better than Pearl did.
If you don't need reflectivity and you don't wipe your brow with your gloves, these would be fine for you. The padding is excellent, and they're very, very breathable.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
Love it - breathes extremely well and overall fits well EXCEPT the closure/clasp thing is under my wrist instead of above (or on top of my hand). This turned out to be a little weird feeling when riding, somewhat cutting off circulation. My old Specialized gloves fit better with the same velcro clasp being on top of my hand instead. If this glove had the clasp on the top, it'd be my favorite fingerless glove.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
I'm not crazy about the under-the-wrist velcro fastening system. The hook side of the velcro faces the skin on the under side of the wrist. It tends to be abrasive to the skin if not perfectly fastened together. Also, there is no absorbant material for wiping sweat away; something one comes to expect as a feature on cycling gloves.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
The padding on the heel (down from the little finger) slips to the side of the hand where it does no good. My gloves fit tight and the padding still slipped around to the side of my hand. I found the gloves uncomfortable because of the slipped padding.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
Pretty much as represented except mine do not have reflective lettering, that I can tell anyway. Palm heel padding seems spaced a little too far to outside but that's probably due my handle bar configuration - hybrid bike vs road. Good price. Seem durable. Finish stitching on fingers seems a bit rough.

Comments about Pearl Izumi Select Gel Gloves - Men's:
I've only used these gloves for about 100 miles so far, but I can't find any reason yet to give them less than 5 stars. Durability is unknown, and they seem to be lightweight but well made. They are quite thin and breathable, yet the padding around the palm is about perfect. No complaints at all.
