I've had a very hard time finding hats that were lightweight, true to size, and with a good color. The Horizon hat did it all. I've taken it out on a few hikes and does an excellent job at shielding my face from sun, keeping my head cool, and catching the sweat from my head. I'm so glad I bought this hat &wish I had found it sooner!

I've worn this hat almost every day for about 4 years. Best hat I have ever owned. I have kind of a big head and most cotton hats shrink and don't fit but this one has stayed true to size. It's breathable and dries fast. Great for sun and rain. When it gets sweaty and dirty I put it in the wash with my clothes and let it air dry. It has faded a little from the sun and washing but it still looks great. Also like how you can un buckle the strap to atatch it to a belt loop or backpack when not in use.

I have a leather, Australian style hat I wear in cool to cold weather but wanted something lite weight for warm weather walking. I bought it especially to use for walking on my lunch break. I have a 2.5 mile loop I take at lunch and needed something to protect my head from the sun but does not cause me to sweat too much. This hat fit the bill perfectly. I wanted something lighter than the normal ball caps that will breath better. This one also packs in my computer backpack without wrinkling.

You will sweat in this hat if you are doing something strenuous in hot weather, but you will sweat without the hat too. I have walked in heat into the mid 80's so far and I think I can say that you will not sweat much more in this hat than you will without it. What you do gain is sun protection. I have to say, it doesn't give me hat head either.

I have been looking, and not finding, a hat to wear when I go hiking, mainly to keep the sweat out of my eyes. My biggest problem to date has been finding a synthetic ball cap that does not look like a runners hat or something similar, but wicks moisture/dries quickly.

This hat is ALMOST perfect. The fabric does breathe and keeps my head much cooler than a cotton ball cap. That said, the headband is still cotton and absorbs sweat like there is no tomorrow, as does the bill. After two hours of solid hiking and sweating, the bill and and headband were soaked. The rest of the hat was moist, but dried pretty quickly.

I would have liked the sizing strap on the hat to be a bit longer so it could be tucked in (the tail hangs loose on my 7 3/8s head), but otherwise it is a relatively good lookin' ball cap.

I will still end up getting a synthetic bandana or something like that, but this hat will still get a lot of use of medium levels of activity.

I've been in need of a performance hat that I can wear for runs and hikes that doesn't look awful, or have me thinking twice about wearing it to the grocery store. It does a great job of keep sweat out of my face, and dries quickly so there isn't a lot of uncomfortable sweat saturation that just marinates my hair and forehead in stink. The biggest upside is its fit and ability to stay on comfortably. I have taken it on trail and road runs on the West Texas plains where winds can average 25 mph for a four hour afternoon stretch and it doesn't even think about moving. The credit goes to the combination of elastic and adjustable clip in the back to size and secure the hat; simple and effective.
This is a great hat for the multiple activities and I looking to take advantage of the multiple colors offered online (versus the two in store) and order another so that I always have one within arms reach.

This cap wicks sweat, protects from the sun. I like the design and wear it on trail, running and also to work.
after abt 6 months of vigorous use and washing it has begun to fray a bit in the front. so i bought 2 more of these. i was disappointed that for a while REI was not carrying this one.

This hat rocks! I have 4 in different colors. It's not cotton, so it dries fast! Great for hiking, field use, or everyday around town. Only downside, is it can get a little hot in the dead of summer, but it's the best ball cap I've had.

Bought the white one to go with my hiking outfits. :) Great fit! It's a bit difficult to adjust the back when you already have the cap on, but once you have adjusted it for your fit you won't have to readjust it! So, do it once and you're good to go. Very stylish too. I love it!

This is a great hat!
I have had many of the cotton-type baseball hats over the years, but this beats them all. The material washes well, doesn't shrink, and flatters without looking too small or ill-fitting. It has UPF 30 but feels lightweight. I have a coral color and I'm thinking of getting some more. I wash my hat often after wearing for workouts or being outside on hot days, and it air dries quickly and looks wonderful. The back has an adjustable sizing, like many hats, but it also has a great little easy release clip - perfect for clipping around ponytails too. Buy several!
