Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
I bought this pack somewhat impulsively, since I was sick of carrying my water while hiking. I have since bought a couple of carabiners which I clip on to hold trekking poles and whatever else.
I'm a big guy, 6'5" 240lb and it fits me fine. The only complaint I have is that I look a little goofy wearing it, and if you put too much in it has a tendency to kind of bow out.
The other day I was out in a light rain and it did pretty well, but in any kind of downpour it might not do as well.
The pockets in the front compartment are pretty useful for keeping things organized.
I use this whenever I go hiking, cycling, or running.
Generally with my GPS, First Aid, iPod, Wallet/Phone, Keys, Compass, and Water Bottle it's pretty full. Anything more causes it to bow out.

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
I was looking for a lumber pack, and I bought this one mainly because the price was so good. I have taken it on a few trips, and I am ready to throw it in the trash. As soon as I add any weight to it, it becomes very uncomfortable to wear. I tried to use it this past weekend on a trip to Sequoia. The only thing I had it in was a small water bottle and a small digital camera. Hardly over-stuffed. When I put it on, the belt was very uncomfortable (no padding) and the pack swayed and bounced as I walked. Before leaving camp, I decided to just leave it behind and carry my water bottle by hand. The only good purpose it serves is as a small organizer of essentials to keep near the door of my tent.
For the pros, it seems to be well made and there is good organization in the pockets. It can hold a lot of stuff, I just can't wear it like I wanted to.

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
I had a difficult time choosing among waist packs, but this one turned out to be ideal for my uses. It holds a 16-0z water bottle and has room for wallet, keys, cell phone, small snack, glasses. I use it for walks, birding and even light jogging. It is also comfortable. I'm a small, short person so that is important.

Pack is lightweight, comfortable and flexible for my fly-fishing gear. Can even use it to supplement my light weight day backpack on hikes.

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
This fanny pack was exactly the type/size I wanted and I think the number of pockets and compartments are very good. However, the first day I used it, I discovered whenever I moved the pack around front or unclipped it from my waist, the straps slid out of position. This is a design flaw EASILY fixed by installing triglides. I went back to my local store and asked for them to give me the triglides free which they were more than willing to do, but they were out of stock of the 1.5" size. Two extra trips to the store to get something that should have been installed on the straps in the first place and would only add 75 cents to the cost of the pack!

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
I love this pack as an answer to a purse and fanny pack combined. When I go for a walk, I remove some items to make it lightweight. When at work, doing chores or shopping, it becomes a purse, freeing up the shoulders with a very convenient front-loading short reach. It holds items I like to have, at times with room to spare. The top may extend out from the body a little, But this is no problem; it adjusts well. Excellent!

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
Nice padding..use sorta like a purse, though kinda bulky for that purpose I prefer that over lugging bag over shoulder .It's not tiny, so can transfer stuff from it to a smaller bag if the occasion arises. Have enjoyed it for long walks, car camping. Would prefer more pockets,so that more jaggedy items like keys or glasses could be properly cushioned/compartmentalized and not bump into other items inside same pocket. The outside pocket with netting and bungy cord type securing is helpful ,but not as secure;items could spill out. Using that space for cell ph and a pepper spray cartridge secured w/its own clip for quick access just in case.

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
I purchased this to replace my old small waistpack to take to a local theme park. It offers large capacity and the padding is great for lumbar and the front. However, the straps keep slipping, having to re-adjust the straps constantly, just as other users have indicated. I am returning this. Also, when the pouch becomes full, the whole pack kind of hangs out and down.

Good for day hikes and traveling. I will try it as a flyfishing tackle bag for summer wading, as soon as the season gets here.

Comments about REI Full Lode Waistpack:
It has ample space for day-use trips and is comfortable. It is difficult to put in water bottle in outside pocket with one-hand. It would be nice if it had two outside water pockets.
