Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.0 Self-Inflating Pad - Short:
Great pad for lightweight trekking. The only con I found was that my sleeping bag slides off this easy. Otherwise, it lightweight and takes up little room in the pack. It is not a great self-inflater, but without much effort can assist by blowing it up and takes only a couple breaths.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.0 Self-Inflating Pad - Short:
Works great for the first few hours (2). Then all the air has left and you're on the ground. Even after checking for leaks, bubbles none found; its still a leaker.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.0 Self-Inflating Pad - Short:
I have used this pad many times and have had very little trouble. It is not much of a self-inflator, but over time it will fill up and with a little help you can get it faily firm. With that said it is a great pad. It packs very easy with a handy compression strap, and takes up very little space in a pack. It is the perfect size for a pad, because it doesn't have all of that unnessisary length that all of the full size pads do. Realistically all one needs is their shoulders to knees to be padded. This is really a great pad for those who want to shave off that unnessisaray wieght and space.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.0 Self-Inflating Pad - Short:
I bought this for a backpacking trip around central america. I used it maybe 5 or 6 times then and I loved it, it kept me more comfortable than bare ground. This last summer I then used it to camp out in Wisconsin for 5.5 months. This is why I am disappointed, it will not keep air anymore, I can't find the leak, probably the valve, so it is not much better than the ground after a couple hours of sleep.
I'd like to buy a new one, but I just can't justify the price, as the last one was in the outlet.

Comments about REI Lite-Core 1.0 Self-Inflating Pad - Short:
I have to agree with the other two reviewers that this pad was great until, one day, I woke up and it had a leak. My husband is a NOLS instructor, and he and I both did our best to find a leak (soaped it several times and no bubbles!). It appears as though the air is releasing near the nozzle and I don't know how to fix that problem. It's a shame because the material itself is quite durable, considering that the product is so lite, but the nozzle itself looks to be defective.
