I bought this knife/tool kit for camping trip mainly to use knife safely. The knife is sharp and long enough to cut most cutting I needed to. It also easy to clean with water and tissue. I cut apple and just wiped it out. A week later no hint of stain what so ever. Since I didn't use it for climbing, I cannot judge about other function.
