The travel-friendly DryGuy Transporter™ boot dryer uses efficient air circulation to dry your boots and gloves.

  • Unique fold-out design warms 1 pair of boots and 1 pair of gloves at the same time
  • Digital countdown timer lets you keep track of drying time
  • DryGuy recommends a minimum of 2 - 3 hr. drying time; however, actual drying times vary by degree of garment dampness
  • Low-volume fan moves warmed air throughout gloves and boots without producing a loud noise
  • Please note that this dryer does not force a super-heated stream of air through your garments because such heat and application might damage them
  • Instead, the Transporter gently circulates warmed air through the garment to promote quick drying and light warming
  • Properly drying gear provides a healthy environment for feet and hands by fending off odor-causing fungus and bacteria that thrive in moist areas
  • Compact design collapses for simple transportation
  • Works well with many different types of footwear, including ski boots, snowboard boots, hockey skates, inline skates, hiking boots and work boots
  • Includes a voltage switch for international travelers

DryGuy has identified and fixed an issue with the blower shaft retention mechanism. As of Sepember, 2009, all DryGuy Transporter boot dryers sold by REI perform with improved durability.

This product did not last long. I only used it about 5 times before it stopped working. I ended up tossing it in the trash. In hindsight, I should have returned it to REI.

Comments about DryGuy Transporter Boot Dryer:

I have been using this boot dryer for almost four years now and have had no issues at all. The unit is lightweight and, from the conditions I have put it in, quite durable. It has traveled with me from NC to a few of the "Stans",the UK, and beyond; dialing the voltage on the bottom of the unit was never a worry.

It does not have a heater, from what I can tell, and is a little noisy if it is right by your head when you are trying to sleep but, without fail my boots have been dry in the morning.

If your boots are very muddy inside and out from walking through poppy fields, irrigation ditches, rivers, etc. you should clean them well before using the dryer or the mud will be difficult to remove.

If you need a dryer that does not take up too much space this is your (dry)Guy.
Eight hours is my default setting. If you need your boots dry in a hurry pass on this one.

Comments about DryGuy Transporter Boot Dryer:

I'm an instructor and I'm in my boots 5 to 7 days a week. I guess I got a good one, I've used this drier nearly every day of the last 2 seasons and so far - knock on wood - it has not failed. Some have written the air flow is weak, but if I set the timer for the full 8 hours, the inside of the liners will be dry the next morning. If the fan was stronger it would also be noisy - no good if you're sleeping in a small Motel 6 room. You'll need to pull the liners out of the shell to thoroughly dry the outside of the liner and the inside of the shell.

I also have a Seirus Boot Toaster and because it's much smaller it may work better for traveling because it takes up less space in luggage. But if you use a Zip-Fit or other heat mold-able liner, the heat from the Seirus Boot Toaster may temporarily reshape the liner. I've also used both driers together and that gives you a much faster dry and toasty boots in the morning.

"Waterproof" gloves (no such thing), if soaked, will still be damp after 8 hours of drying. But if they're not Gore-Tex or they're not soaked, it does a pretty good job.

When it works this seemed to do OK with Kids boots and gloves. However, I have had two of these and both had the fan fail after less than 3 months of use (run probably two days a week). No air flow = no drying!

The Problem From Sep '09 Is Not Fixed !!

Comments about DryGuy Transporter Boot Dryer:

I read the reviews about how horrible this product was, and then read the disclaimer at the bottom about the problem with the product being fixed. I figured at half price why not take a chance - maybe I am getting a bargain on a flawed product that was fixed and now the manufacturer wants to move it out of stock for the next model. Well, it stopped working after 5 minutes!! I waited a bit and tried again - no dice. I did go into this with no expectations, so not too upset. Only inconvenience is having to return it, and finding a boot dryer that actually works. Not disappointed with REI, they have a great business model, and are a great company. DO NOT BUY - PROBLEM NOT FIXED !!!

This dryer just does not work well - it does not blow enough air to dry boots and gloves at the same time - and it will break very quickly - I bought two of them - they both broke within 3 weeks of use durring the ski season
