I bought a Seirus crash pad, but got this PRO-TEC as a gift. The PRO-TEC padding is firmer, so it protected me more from impact when I fell. It fit well under my overalls and snowpants, but didn't hinder my range of movement. It's breatheable so you're not soggy from moving all day. I would buy this for all of my friends who are starting snowboarding/skiing.

Bottom line: the insufficient tailbone protection is better than nothing, but not at all worth the $. My dorky homemade yoga mat butt pad is less noticeable under snow pants and offers better protection ; )

Okay for mild hits to the snow, but the first hard fall to my tailbone left me in pain for weeks and unable to ride :/ The padding at the hips is thicker and seemed more protective.

The sizing is odd. I'm 5'3" 120 lbs 4-6 & wore the medium over polar fleece pants. The waistband was uncomfortably tight for my 27" waist, and the "stretchy" leg holes were very baggy. Mid-30's learning to snowboard.
