The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Garmin City Navigator North America NT - PC/MAC 2012:
I purchased this software to add to my new Oregon 400T. I've got an older Magellan that I use for turn-by-turn navigation, as well as a Garmin 60CSx for geocaching & backpacking. For the [$] price-tag I fully expected to be able to load the software on BOTH my Oregon & the 60CSx. SURPRISE!! Garmin requires you to register the product online & provide the Serial # of your unit in order to unlock the software. When I called tech-support & asked why they need my serial # (I'm always suspicious of this kind of thing) I was told that Garmin unlocks the software only for one specific unit, and the unlock code is tied to the unit's serial number. I was told that in order to get the software to work on both of my units, I'd need to purchase ANOTHER complete version of the software for ANOTHER [$]! They don't even give you a break on the price of a second license. Conveniently, NOWHERE is this policy stated on their website [...], in any of their advertising, on the product packaging itself, or on the lengthy license agreement you're required to accept before the software will install. Garmin tried to shift the blame onto Navteq, from whom they themselves license the software. I refuse to accept that excuse. In this day & age as we work toward a GPS Navigation system being in every car, and families having 2-3 cars, you ought to only pay once to equip all units you own. At the VERY LEAST Garmin could offer a $25 2nd license. At this point I'm so unhappy I intend to retun BOTH City Navigator NT -and- the Oregon 400t. Shame on you Garmin. This is not the way to treat a consumer.

This is a quality Garmin product. It provides added function to your hand held unit. My Colorado 400T now get more use than ever. From truck to motorcycle to just hiking around on foot. It did take a few hours to load it up, so have a good charge on the batteries before you start. I have multiple Garmin units, but Garmin limits the license to a single unit. I would like to be able to use it with all my registered units. I will be contacting Garmin over this single use issue and my now diminished desire to update or replace my hand held with one of their newer products.

I would not recommend Garmin at all because of their new software policy. I just bought my 2nd Garmin device, and I CAN NOT load already purchased software on it. Once Garmin software gets loaded on a GPS, it is tied to that particular unit FOREVER, and can not be transferred to a newer unit you may buy. You have to buy a SECOND COPY of the software & install it again, that's right, two copies of the same software on you computer. Just say no to this BS & get a different brand

I have the SD version of this product. It resolves the issues the users who want to use this software on various Garmin units. I didn't want to commit this product to just one Garmin product, so I purchased the SD version instead. Very Happy. The SD version lacks the PD/MAC planning capability, but that works out fine in my situation.

Comments about Garmin City Navigator North America NT - PC/MAC 2012:
I love that you can make double functionality with a hiking gps (mine is 60CSx). I don't have to buy an additional car gps. The bad thing is that you can only unlock the disc for one serial number. My 60CSx was stolen a few weeks ago. So not only did I have to re-buy the unit, I have to re-buy City Navigator. I called support to ask if I can unregister it from the stolen one, or if I can buy a second license for a reduced amount. No, I gotta buy a whole new disc at full price. If you have multiple GPS's, you have to do this as well. But once it is installed, it works really well (if your GPS will hold a big enough microSD card to hold all the maps you want).

Not sure what the big the complaint is...it was clear to me when I bought my 60CSx that the additional software only came with one license. I agree that is not the best scenario but it is what it is. The software itself performs just fine and as others have mentioned, it allows me to use a trail device for city use. Handy to use on business trips as well as fun trips! I did recently have some issues with my device [...] Overall, pretty solid item,[...] and it does what it was designed to do.

Comments about Garmin City Navigator North America NT - PC/MAC 2012:
I would have to agree on with the other user, as the bad flaw in licensing the product. I purchased the product with the same intention of installing on multiple Garmin units I own. To my dismay, you are only allowed to install on one unit. Now here comes a bigger problem. I used a 60Csx for Geocaching, well out comes the 62 series with paperless caching. Much better, but now I have to spend more money so I can use as a turn by turn navigator for my motorcycle. The Product itself is great, works well, and installs pretty seamlessly with the unit. I did have hard time planning a round-trip motorcycle ride through the mountains of Colorado. Did not like that the start point and end point were the same. Could possibly have been user error though. I did the same as the other reviewer and sent Garmin an email about this issue with the exact same response. Sorry, it is not Garmin it is Navteq. Actually here is the exact email response I recieved from Garmin.Thank you for contacting Garmin International. The reason that you are only allowed to put the City Navigator maps on one device is because the map software is provided to Garmin by a third party company called Navteq. The licensing agreement that we have with Navteq is that the software is only to be installed on one GPS device, Garmin is charged for each license of that software, so we are unable to discount it or give it away. We only manufacture GPS devices, and this policy comes from the map provider, not Garmin. With Best Regards[@]So in conclusion, if you have no intentions of installing on multiple units than I would recommend this software. Works well, just disappointing when there is nothing stating you cannot use on multiple units.

Nice to be able to add road navigation to my Montana. But I don't understand why the software costs the same as some Garmin Auto GPSs with the navigational maps included. Combined with no updates and not able to transfer maps to my other handheld GPS makes it a very expensive option.
