      This was an impulse buy early on in my backpacking career, and it turned out to be an excellent decision! I've done several of the hikes in here. The difficulty rating scale is pretty good, and this is full of information that you actually use - where the campsites are, if you need to pack in water, how to find the trailhead, what to expect on the hike. Much better than other backpacking guides I've used. There are also several hikes in here that can be done as a day hike, if you don't want to carry everything on your back for a couple of days.

      I've been using this to find day hikes and backpacking routes for several years, and its still the first thing I look through when I'm looking for someplace to go.
