      i purchased two bottles to replace my ancient lexan nalgene bottles. it's nice to know that the bottles i used the past 20 years were imparting some nasty chemical that MAY be unhealthy. the old style nalgene bottles were almost impossible to destroy.

      too early to tell if this will be as durable, but the bottles have all the same features that make nalgene a great bottle. the new plastic seems like it will be durable, but i haven't yet tested it with boiling water or by freezing it solid. it feels a little more grippy in your hand and a little heavier than the old bottles. the new plastic doesn't impart any taste, similar to the old lexan bottles.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I have used the Polycarbonate version for over 15 years. Only time i replaced them was when they got lost. Hope these start coming in more colors and varieties that are BPA free. Two bottle choices is pretty lame. I bought a Camelbak version as well, that uses the Tritan plastic since the price was three bucks less, and had more selection! Wait till prices go down a few bucks till you go for it.

      I reached a spot were we could stop and dropped my new one on a rock and it broke on me. Good thing I had my old one with me.

        I chose Nalgene over the rest because they have been making their product for quite awhile. the color choices are slim but great item for my amature radio emergency services, and SKYWARN. grab and go gear bag.
