Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
Before I purchased the Princeton Tec EOS, I compared it to several models that were on the market and the EOS was and is still is one of the lightest and brightes LED headlamps in it's class. I have used the EOS for about two years now and even currently there is no headlamp I think is better for general outdoor use. The things that make it a good headlamp are: the power output is regulated, uses commonly found AAA batteries, easy to use with gloves and most importantly it is one of the few lightweight headlamps on the market that is waterproof. The only thing that would make it better would be if teh EOS had a top strap.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I've been using two Petzl Tikka XP and two Princeton Tec EOS for outdoor activities and on the job in a research lab during the past ~3 years. Both of them deliver excellent lighting and battery lifetimes. However, both Princeton cracked at the same spot on the housing after less than one year of use. The metal screw/thread and the plastic housing don't go well together and what looks like a reliable way to seal the housing on the first glance turns out to be a weak spot after a while. First the waterproofness went and now the cracks have to be duct taped so you don't cut your fingers when switching the light. In comparison both Petzls still work fine.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I bought the EOS headlamp as a replacement for the Quest headlamp and have no complaints. Its very light, has 3 different beams plus a strobe if needed for emergency times and with the LED the batteries seem to last extremely long. I take it everywhere, from day hikes to multi-day kayaking trips.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I like to trail run and do adventure races of less than 12 hours. While this light was bright, waterproof, and relatively lightweight, I found the angle adjustment of the lamp to be loose. What I mean is that the hinge is very loose. As soon as I'd start running, the light would hinge down, resulting in a very bright light shining right in my eyes. I hope this description makes sense. I preferred the "click" adjustment of my old Petzl; you would set the angle and it would stay there because it clicked into place. I am returning this light and trying the Petzl Tactikka xp Adapt.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
We have many trails that are day and now night accessible with the Princeton Eos. Moreover, I frequently walk our two Samoyeds at night. The light reflects the eyes of our forest denizens and has kept us from many close encounters with skunks. Our way is clearly lit and many fellow hikers have asked the manufacturer's name so they might purchase one. Mine held up for 5 years and recently failed after taking a major blow affecting the switch. Bought another and have no regrets. Great product!

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I got this light because of its stronger LED and semi-light weight, but mostly for the water resistance. I do adventure races a few times a year and water is hopefully always involved. I also (personal preference) don't like a strap going over the top of my head, just around it like a headband.
I have kayaked in some serious swells during a rainstorm on Lake Mead with this light and it never faltered. I have also swam at night with it. Every now and then it would go under the water with me a foot or two with no problems. I have had it for almost two years now and the beam is still bright, centered and goes a good distance. Great for biking at night. I can also use the light underneath my helmet (no over the head strap).
The platic housing used for adjusting the angle of the light from your forehead is also well made. I bought a different brand light for my wife and the plastic housing cracked after a couple uses.
I would definitely recommend this lamp to others

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
If you are looking for a bright light that can also last a long time this is the light for you. However be very careful with it and don’t put it at the bottom of your backpack because if you set your backpack down on a hard surface it could break the plastic and water-resistant ability of the light. I have gone through two of these lights and I love them just don’t be too rough with the headlamp it could crack. Great for rainy weather and seeing far distances.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I'm agreeing with an earlier review. The hinge on this lamp is far too loose, and with no way to tighten it, I end up with my light shining on my feet more often than not. It's a shame that what is seemingly such a small detail could ruin this piece of gear. I'm regretting not going with Petzl.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
I've had this headlamp for about 4 years. I use it 8 or 9 months of the year on a daily basis to walk my dog. And I've learned to use it instead of a flashlight when doing a plumbing job or searching for something in one of those dark storage corners every garage or closet has. I like the adjustable brightness and waterproof feature. It may look bulky, but it really isn't. I have another headlamp I purchased a year ago when this one was temporarily misplaced. The on/off and brightness control switch doesn't always work on the other, but always works on this one. I typically use the lowest brightness, which is mostly sufficient. I probably get about 75 - 80 hours out of it before the light gets too dim to be useful for walking my dog.

Comments about Princeton Tec EOS LED Headlamp:
These reviews appear to be old, as the new version has a "Click" adjustment, and I just put it on and jumped up and down with no movement. Also, I have had other Princeton TEC products and their customer service is great, they have sent me replacement parts free, etc[...]bright and a great light to hike in, bike if you get caught out (not a primary, unless your in an illegal area), climbing is great too, or around the camp.
