Comments about Baffin Doug Stoup Polar 4000 Winter Boots - Men's:
These boots kept me warm while being inactive setting on a tractor all day with high winds and blowing snow. My fanny was cold from the cold seat which slows blood circulation to my feet but feet stayed warm even after 6-7 hrs. of being exposed. For socks I wore only a thin nylon pair.
You will need to sew another 4-6 inches of the 'loop' half of Velcro to the strap so the end of the strap will lock down and not catch and flap on the other boot as you're walking. Other than this manf. oversight they are a great boot so far.

Comments about Baffin Doug Stoup Polar 4000 Winter Boots - Men's:
I am outdoors often in extreme cold in winter and with a history of frostbite. These boots are the answer to protecting my feet. They are comfortable and light weight for their size and offer excellent traction. I am using them in subzero windchills and remain warm and comfortable. I only wish the strap system worked. The velcro doesn't accomodate clenching. Also in case they weren't bulky enough, they added pockets. Otherwise, a great product.

Comments about Baffin Doug Stoup Polar 4000 Winter Boots - Men's:
I'm delighted with these boots, cause I'm a fisherman and winters in our country are very very cold, especially on the lakes and the rivers.
These Boots are very lightweight, warm and also have another values.
And I don't see such things that aren't so great about it.

Comments about Baffin Doug Stoup Polar 4000 Winter Boots - Men's:
First off these are the warmest boots I have every worn (I live and grew up in Minnesota) I even tested them siting on dear stand at 0 degrees for hours not moveing an inch and my feet never got cold. I have been in snow shoes with them, built igloos at -18F. I always had warm feet. Unfortuantly, I have return 3 pairs of these boots (size 11) because the fabric on the out layer keeps pulling out at the same spot on all 3 pairs. My wife even has a pair in the smallest mens size and they are now starting to show wear in that same seam area.
Since these are the warmest boots I have every had I asked REI to special order another Baffin Polar Series boot. I choose the Baffin APEX because it has an all leather upper and will be more durable and not have any seam fabric issues.
If I was going on a trip to the Arctic then I would have to go with the Doug Stoupe boots, leather at a constant -30 to -60 below would be hard to get into in the morning.
Overall they are very warm but they need to have better workmenship
