Comments about SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Socks - Women's:
Thinner thickness, but not too thin. Great for summer hiking. Elastic around ankles stretches out quickly which considering the price should be better made.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Socks - Women's:
Bought these for upcoming 4-day Inca Trail hike. Tried REI wool socks with and w/out liners developed hot spots during each training hike. Recv'd a pr. of Smartwool's as a gift. Best socks ever! Headed straight to REI for another pair. Two 5.5 mile hikes and not a single blister or irritated spot. Going back for a third pair ... Love the patterns too!

Comments about SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Socks - Women's:
This used to be my favorite sock, and I went to buy some new ones. Imagine my surprise to find the silly little flowers. Give me a break. Just because I'm a girl I have to wear flowers? My feet are too small for mens, so now what?

Comments about SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Socks - Women's:
Super comfy. Cute. Best socks ever. Socks are usually too big on me, with the heels riding up too high. I love that these socks come in sizes, so I was able to get a small size for my small feet. I use them for hiking and day to day use in colder weather. I have not used them for running, but I think my feet would get too hot. Smartwool does have thinner socks though, that could be perfect for running, just have not tried those yet.

Comments about SmartWool PhD Outdoor Light Mini Socks - Women's:
After Thanksgiving in Chicago, I realized I don't own warm enough clothes to keep me warm for my upcoming move to colder climates!
I ordered about 10 pairs of socks and these Smartwool socks really were the best. I wanted regular looking socks- not too high, not too bulky, not the short ones- just regular warm socks that would keep my feet warm in the cold. These socks are fitted perfectly around my feet, and they do not bunch when I walk around in them.
The socks are also warm- at least warmer than the plain old cotton socks I usually wear. I think they will keep me warm in colder temperatures. They are largely meeting my needs in the nighttime 40's here, and I expect they will continue to keep me warm when I move to a climate about 10-15 degrees colder. They are definitely warmer than the "ultralight" version which I also purchased.
I think they are attractive too, although what does that mean when they are covered in boots? Are socks every truly stylish? They aren't high heals and peep-toe stylish, but I think the colors and pattern are attractive.
If my opinion changes when I move, I'll try to update my comments!
