I bought these gloves for a backpacking trip along the AT in VA. I absolutely love these gloves. The high in the day was 5 degrees and these were the only gloves I used. Yes they are liners but they work really well as gloves too. Albeit when you stop hiking for a while you will want to slip your shell's over these. They don't block the wind but I found even when it is 5 degrees out and the wind is blowing 20 to 25 mph they still work great. I plan on buying my wife a pair. Oh and did I mention I was trekking through 3 feet of snow while using them :)

I use these for liners inside my REI ONE Gloves, they are a very close fit which helps not restrict movement too much. Together it makes for an awesome system for most needs.

I wasn't able to wear these on the trail in the three weeks that I tried two different pairs. I really, really wanted to like these gloves!

These are lightweight, warm, and rather comfy - but the seams failed in both pairs that I tried. For the first pair the failure was in the fingers and the second failure was in the wrists. I was not at all rough with these and I'm not against grabbing a needle and thread but it made me doubt that I could trust the build-quality of these gloves - when it counted most. Perhaps it was a bad batch, as other reviews give high praise. I would have too, had the stitching held up longer than it did.

I bought these for my husband b/c his old REI winter gloves were super old and worn out. At first, he was skeptical at how thin they were...but warmed up to them after he realized how comfy they are and very movable.
