Comments about Merrell Snowmotion 6 Waterproof Winter Boots - Men's:
I've been very happy with my past Merrell boots and shoes. The SnowMotion 6 are just so-so, unfortunately. I find they are comfortable in general, but the ankle enclosure hits at just the wrong spot. It is not high enough to cover the ankle, and not low enough to ride under the ankle, so it rubs. The boots are waterproof, but when walking in snow deeper than 3 or 4 inches, the ankle enclosure let snow in (and it was hard to keep my snowpant gators cinched down on the boots). I kept them because I figure they'll be good enough for taking the dogs out for short walks or moving around the yard in a light snow or rain. They have a good tread pattern and my footing feels secure in the snow, but the Vibram soles aren't really soft enough or "rubbery" enough to give dependable traction on icy surfaces.

Comments about Merrell Snowmotion 6 Waterproof Winter Boots - Men's:
I wore these shoes for about 6 weeks and the seams in front of the ball of my foot blew open on both sides, making them useless. I have had good luck with Merrels before, but these need to be recalled.
