Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
This boot is so comfortable. They feel like trail running shoes. They also provide great ankle support. I used them to hike Mt Rainier and they where very comfortable, despite the fact they were brand new. Basically there was no brake in period needed. They held up really good in the snow, keeping my feet warm and dry. Provided great grip on rocks, ice and snow. The comfort and light weight allowed me to jog down the mountain providing me great ankle support. Very recommended.

I love the feel of these boots they are so comfortable,I am going to buy another pair for everyday use. I have been on several hikes with a full pack and it feels like I am wearing crosstrainers, not boots. They have been through creeks and snow I have not gotten wet yet.

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought these boots in preparation for a 26 mile desert hike this March. They are very comfortable and required little to no break-in. I like a mid height boot rather than a low cut. These are doing the job for me and I've had no blisters or any other problems.

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
The VASQUE Synergist looked similar to the recently discontinued VASQUE CATALYST MID XCR shoe so i tried them out. But the Synergy doesn't have the smooth feel of the Catalyst or Velocity. Definitely not a good shoe for running up hills or on trails. Even for a Grand Canyon hike, the Catalyst or Velocity would be better.

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots lasted less than 70 miles before completely losing two lugs and the rest half peeling off. These boots also lost their eyelets, and the toe protection wore through very quickly. Worst of all they cut into both my achilles over two days nearly crippling me during a week long hike. I was 30 miles into a 120 mile hike and had to pack these out and wear a pair of my friend's running shoes instead. I will be returning these today.
I wouldn't recommend these to my worst enemy. Avoid at all cost!

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I live in the middle of Chicago and have a 15 minute walk to the train station. I primarily use the Vasque Synergist for this twice a day walk. I like having an everyday, "every-season", boot that I can wear for my commute. The weather can range from a humid 100 degrees to a frigid -25 wind chill.
The Synergist works for what I need them for, but I wouldn't trust them on the trail. The grip is nice and I haven't had any problems with leakage, but the support could be a lot better. I think this has a lot to do with their main problem, lack of durability. I have worn then for about 6 months now and there definitely is a lot more "give" in them now than when they were new. I realize this is to be expected, but not as much as I am experiencing. Also, some of the leather on the back of the boot where the sole meets the body is starting to chip and crack.
Again, it's a nice walking around the city boot, but I wouldn't buy it for much else.

Very nice shoes for the price. My only complaint is that they aren't really "cushy," but I knew that when I bought them. I got a nice sole insert and it's perfect! A+ on the waterproof too!

I guess I should have waited to post an opinion. They just felt so good out of the box.
After more use, my feet were thrashed. Banging toes and blisters in several spots. I've never had these type of problems with any boots I've owned before.
After going thru snow a few times and some creek crossings, the boots seemed to have shrunk a size as well. The soles seemed to have worn quite a bit in the short time I've worn them.
I took them back.

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
I bought these to hike 1000miles of the AT and at first I thought they we're great. No break-in required and they we're very lightweight. After about 3 weeks, parts of the sole actually came off of the shoe. I did walk through the Pennsylvania rocks with them, and there was some normal wear and tear, but having part of the sole come off was not normal. Also, small bumps started to rise up through the insole near my toes causing my small toes to be smashed together. I was in great pain for a week. [...]

Comments about Vasque Synergist Gore-Tex Mid Hiking Boots - Men's:
These boots are a perfect example of trading comfort for durability. After less than 50 miles the boot leather is torn, and the sole is separating in numerous places on both boots.
While these are the most comfortable boots that I have had in a long time they are headed back.
