Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
I used these boots most recently snowshoeing @ Pictured Rocks in Grand Marais, MI. It was -5 to -10 degrees F without the windchill. My feet were in great shape the whole trip. I only used one pair of Smartwool hiking socks. So far these are the best winter boots I have ever had besides my GI JOE moonboots when I was five.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
My primary use for these is for commuting through Chicago Winters and the occasional winter adventure. They keep my feet warm and dry. It took a little while before they broke in but after a month of wearing them I couldn't go back to freezing in sneakers.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
Don't waste money on old-school clunkers. Get these higher-performance snow boots. These are probably not the warmest boots that money can buy, but they are a PERFECT blend of insulation, fit, etc for hiking, snowshoeing and just about any other activity in the snow. Haven't tried on a long day of snowmobiling yet.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
Just got these and so far I like them.
My only complaint is that there is very little arch support. But I will just throw in some inserts.
Soles do mark wood floors a little. My toes are now nice and toasty. They are comfortable enough for getting around Chicago all day.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
I bought these for snowmobiling, snowshoeing and all around winter use. Used them in Utah last week at -5F (-20F to -30F wind chill) with liners, a pair of Smartwool Expedition socks and Gortex gators. They were extremely comfortable and light but my feet felt a little cool once we stopped for a long period. I didn't change socks because my gators were frozen over…this probably would have helped. These are definitely 'active' winter boots. They are not 'pacs' but the extreme light-weight, comfort and traction are worthy tradeoffs.
I really like the look and comfort of the Dark Shadow. I bought them a full size larger to accommodate expedition weight socks and sock liner. I plan on taking them up to the Jemez next week for snowshoeing...highly recommended.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
I love Keen becaise they are good fitting and durable footwear. The Summit County started to come apart after just 2 hours of wearing them, most it standing at the top of the sledding hill. The foam feeling rubber between teh sole and the leather uppers started coming off. This is happening on both boots. Im planning on taking them back in the morning. Ill see what else they might have for winter boots. THey are very comfortable and I have loved all other pair of Keens I have owned (maybe 15 or 20 pair over several years). I wore the other Keens everyday to work where it is very hard on footwear and normally footwear lasts on a couple months at best, but keens lasted much longer than other shoes. Im dissapointed these dont appear to hold up well with the foam/rubber transition from sole to uppers.

the best boots i ever owned. i climbed Andrew's glacier of RMNP in March. that was sub-zero, strong wind, rock, ice, snow and all rough terrains imaginable. but this boot gave it all out and supported all my technical moves. i used it as replacement of snowshoes and it took me all the way up to the summit. i couldnt climb that fast if i was wearing snowshoes. simply the best!

Great Boot, Very warm and comfortable. Highly Recommend. I went on a 16 mile hike the other day that was in a couple inches of snow. The boot kept my feet very warm and provided great traction. We were up and down several steep hills.

Comments about Keen Summit County Winter Boots - Men's:
Great for warmth. Nice toe box. Easy to wear 2 pairs of sox and still be able to move my toes for circulation. The problem-there is a lot of rubbing on my ankle. There is a large seam that runs across my ankle. It rubs every time I step. I was hoping that they would break in but they do not in that spot. I will return them tomorrow.

I got these boots for work. I travel all over my state visiting customer sites to service electronic equipment. I needed something to keep my feet warm out in this snow and look decent too.
My only issue was that I was thinking that these were water proof. My feet did get wet when trudging through a lot of slush...the place I was at pretty much turned into a lake..about 3-6 inches of water.
