Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
First off - the size is good. I wear a 12.5/13 and have narrow feet, and XL fits well. I do prefer my socks to be a little bit longer as this one is barely visible with running shoes on.
The sock completely feels like having 2 pairs of socks on. Does this stop blistering? I don't know, because I don't have them, but I have experienced two major disadvantages.
Number 1 - the sock bunches up and has a very thick seam around the big toe. If your shoes are a bit tight, you cannot wear them.
Number 2 - doing stretches after the run without your shoes on, is impossible with these socks. The first layer stays on the foot and totally slips within the second layer (which sticks to the ground/mattress).
The last gripe (which doesn't really bother me, but should be mentioned) is that these socks aren't really cushioned. They are a bit thick, but it is not in the form of cushioning. It's like having two thin pairs of socks on.
Overall, I'll still wear them when all the other socks are in the laundry, but it is unusable for anything over 5 miles.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
I've been running in WrightSock for the last 9 years, and have yet to get a blister while wearing them. Before I started using them my feet were always covered in blisters. The double layers do a fantastic job of preventing blisters, and they keep my feet warm on long cold runs.
I have yet to have a pair break or fray in anyway and I have close to 10 pairs.
These are the best socks I've ever had, I refuse to run in anything else.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
I felt compelled to write this review after I read the two 1-star reviews that are on this product. I should begin by saying that I have been wearing all sorts of Wrightsocks for almost 10 years now and I have never been disappointed. They have a wide range of products that are all suitable for different situations.
This particular pair (DLX) comes with a lot of extra padding, and you'll notice it as soon as you put the sock on (as you've probably gathered from the older reviews). You might even have to loosen your shoelaces and make some adjustments when you're using this sock. I find this cushioning a great comfort when I'm doing high-impact activities, and I regularly wear these socks when I'm running. That said, sometimes it will bunch up, especially after repetitive motions. I think this is why this sock is NOT marketed as a "running sock" and Wrights has other products designed specifically for that purpose. If you're looking for a running sock, check out their running lines and I don't think you'll be disappointed.
The dual layers on all Wrightsocks are great for preventing blisters, and sometimes they do cause a little bit of slippage between the layers; I've never found this to be a problem with my shoes on. I guess I've never thought about it with my shoes off.
I should say that the extra thickness does end up absorbing quite a bit of extra moisture when you sweat in this sock (or step in a stream or whatever). The material does a decent job of wicking moisture away from your foot, but when it becomes saturated on the outer layers it will lose this ability.
All in all, I think this is a good sock if you know for what reason you're going to wear it. If you need a little extra support for a long day of standing up (theme parks?) or during high-impact sports (tennis), then this is a good deal. If you want to run, get a running sock.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
First, what is the point of the mesh on the top of the sock if there is another layer beneath it? This isn't aiding in cooling your feet since there is essentially another sock between the mesh and your feet. Second, couldn't agree more with the reviewer before me, these socks make it feel like you're wearing two pairs of liner socks. It's really uncomfortable, very hard to adjust to that when running. I don't have any use for these, I gave them away already. Definitely won't buy this brand again, I hope REI notices this trend and finds a better running brand.
Bottom line: Someone came up with a gimmick to sell socks, these are not worth buying.

Reading these negative reviews actually got me to write my first review here at REI.
I love these socks. I've been running in them for two years now and haven't had any issues. I am careful when putting them on to make sure everything is smoothed out but its not a big deal.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
Probably the best distance-running sock I've ever used (and I've tried alot). Significantly reduces blisters.
I've read some reviews that say some people have trouble with the sock bunching up, which probably means you are wearing too large of a sock. Keep in mind that 2-layer socks need to fit like a glove and *not* loose like a tube sock. Try going down a size. When properly sized, the sock should feel kinda snug, yet squishy on your foot.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
These are my favorite socks to run trails in. I've never gotten a blister wearing them because of the two layer system within one sock. I prefer thick cushy running socks because my foot is narrow. I did have to loosen my laces some. If I wear thin running socks my feet slide around in my shoes too much, so these sock are perfect! I ran the Big Sur marathon in these with no problems.

Comments about WrightSock Cushioned DLX Socks:
To start with I am picky about socks, often opting to go sock-less as often as possible and wearing sandals most of the time to avoid having to wear socks, but I needed some decent socks for hiking for a 2 week trip to Colorado in July. They worked great. All during our hiking, climbing, and sightseeing, they kept my feet from rubbing blisters, and helped keep my toes toasty during the cold nights. I never had any bunching problems or uncomfortability.
Even now that we are home, I always opt for these socks for our daily walks and any other time I have to wear my sneakers. I even wear them around the house in the winter to keep my always cold toes warm.

I needed something to get me through the break in period with a new pair of golf shoes. After doing some research online, I found Wrightsock and Engo. Both performed as promised in reducing blisters, especially where I am always prone to getting them—on my heels. Both work by allowing the sock next to your skin to slide at the hot spots, rather than have your skin slide on the sock. With Engo, you can place the Teflon tape at the hotspots. With Wrightsock, your entire feet that is covered with the inner layer is allowed to slide on the outer layer. This works great if you didn't do sports with a lot of turning, stopping, and or shifting. I can't recommend this product for golf. I felt as though I was trying to swing while balancing on wet river rocks. Walking on slopes was also a bit uncomfortable, as my feet felt as though they were sliding downhill in my shoe. My feet felt like they were swimming in the shoe all day. This occurred in a perfectly fit golf shoe. The Engo product worked better for me, because I was able to limit the amount of sliding to the hotspots only. I used my normal sports socks with this product and it worked best for my purposes. Wrightsock does have something though, and I would probably try it out for another activity. I might try the thicker wool combo in my hiking boots. I guess it's a good product for street runners, but for cross-country, I'm not so sure. I hope they come out with something much more stable for action sports.
