Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
They're warm, but the down has stems which poke through the outer shell. I lost 4 feathers in 2 nights, so I returned mine for a stronger shell and more refined down.

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
I am a college student and i love these slippers. they are so great to walk around my doorm in. they are kinda goofy looking but it doesnt matter they are the most cozy thing your feet will ever be in. While yes the down does fall out, it is a small matter. i have had mine for about a year and they are great!

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
As "Booties" they are true to description.
My 1st morning with them it was 32 degrees & these "Booties" were warm as toast.
My only concern, & the reason I did not give them a Full 5 Star rating, is I have noticed down feathers leaking thru the nylon shell. One would think the shell would be a "down proof" material.
Since they are "Booties" they have a thin, but warm, sole & are not designed for outdoor use.
If REI ever offers these with a slipper type of sole I will be the 1st in line to get a pair.

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
I purchased these booties for my husband about 6 months ago. He loves down booties! The other evening I noticed the outside bottom sole on each are ripped: 4"x2" section on one and 1"x1" section on the other is completely worn through! The use has been on tiled and wooden floors as well as carpet so I don't really see a reason for this quick demise! We normally like the quality of REI products, but this one falls short!

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
Recently purchased a new pair to replace my two-year-old pair whose soles had already disintegrated. However, new booties only have half the down insulation with very little down located in the toe area. In short, new booties are not as warm as the old booties and REI has not addressed the exceedingly thin sole material which will, no doubt, also begin to fray within a year.

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
These booties can be made to punch above their price with a few modifications. First, I took a black polyurethane roof & flashing sealant and applied an outsole. The tread is courtesy a notched trowel. While the down provides great insulation on top, the sole is still too thin, the ground is cold after all, so I slipped in a pair of felt insoles I had lying around from some sorels or something. Now I have a dandy pair of down booties just like the expensive brands, but at half the price. Yes, a feather leaks out once in a while, but so what?

Comments about REI Down Booties - Men's:
My 1st morning w/ my booties it was 32 degree's indoors & these were the warmest things I ever wore. Since then I have worn them when it has not been as cold & they were still a comfort. Never stuffy or sweaty.
They are adjustable. Can be rolled down to the ankles or extended up to 12" high. Whatever suits your needs.
As "Booties" they are what they say they are. Not slippers or shoes, which would have a thicker sole & be more confining. Obviously, they are designed to be worn indors & not to be walked outdoors.
If REI ever makes these booties w/ more of a slipper/shoe sole I want to be the 1st in line.
