The full-sized Four Shadows GTX winter boots offer serious insulation and waterproof protection for winter activities in frigid conditions.

  • Synthetic leather and nylon uppers are lightweight, durable and flexible; plus, they resist water absorption
  • Waterproof, breathable Gore-Tex® membranes are seam-sealed to prevent water leaks while allowing moisture vapor out, keeping feet comfortable
  • 400 grams of PrimaLoft® Eco recycled insulation ensure warmth and comfort in conditions to -40°F during active use
  • Extra-high coverage collars with gusseted tongues keep out snow; heel loops aid in entry and exit
  • Dri-Lex® fleece collars and tongue linings help move moisture away from your feet
  • Features removable footbeds with dual-density X-2™ cushioning and AgION™ odor protection
  • Injection-molded thermoplastic urethane shanks deliver torsional stability while reducing cold temperature conductivity
  • TNF Winter Grip™ rubber outsoles grip snow and wet surfaces for solid traction
  • Temperature-sensitive Ice Pick™ rubber lugs on outsoles harden when temps fall below freezing, providing extra bite into the terrain

      This boot was great until I got on the runners of a dogsled. The nylon on the top of the foot allows wind to cut right through and my feet were frozen in no time. It was 20 degrees out when I was running dogs. Warm feet at that temp with a light boot is reasonable. What a shame. If I were snowshoeing or walking, they would be fine.

      Bought these just in time for Winter and I'm glad I did. They are both warm and comfortable. I was really surprised by how light they are, too. The boots have proven themselves useful both on the trail and around the house.

      My only objection, and it is rather small, is that the boot comes really high up on the ankle and cuts down movement of the ankle itself. I understand it can help prevent rolling one's ankle but it can, at times, feel too restricting.

          Used it for the first time in the snow and ice on a hike to Flattop Mt in RMNP. Very comfortable and dependable. Packed snow and ice on the lower trail, deep snow in the middle, rocks, crusted snow on top. Hiked 15 miles and stayed warm and dry.

          I brought them home after ordering it online and wore them around the house so I could decide if I liked them. Boy, I'm glad I did that. After about 30 minutes, my ankles and shin felt pressured. I really didn't like how stiff the boot was and the fit was not snug at all. The inside of the boot felt like a box with zero arch support. Its only saving grace was the 400g of insulation and the superb collar height. Back to Salomon boots I go!
