Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I am a snow groomer and I bought these boots for the ski season this year. They started leaking 2 weeks into starting work. They leak in ankle deep snow. Most of the water comes in around the front of the boot. I don't recommend using these boots for any snow or wet applications. [...], I will be returning these as soon as a get a chance. A [*] of a product for [$].

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
The company advertises: "Whether you're heading to the South Pole or are in a local blizzard, the Baltoro 400 II boots from The North Face keep you warm and dry. Comfort rated to -40°F."
Because this product was rated both waterproof and good to temperatures down to -40 below (F), I thought it would make a great boot for getting around in the winter (generally)and snowshoing during South Dakota's typically rough winter. Well, this turned out not to be the case. After less than 1/2 a mile in the snow at 1 degree (F), my toes began to go numb. Clearly not a good boot to rely on if you actually have to rely on it in cold weather and certanly not in 40 below! Adding to that is the general "wetness" of the inside of the boot if one simply uses it as a "day-wear" walking around snowboot. As seems to be the case with Northface these days, the boot looks fantastic, but it does not function...to the point that I could have lost my toes had I not been doing a simple equipment "shakedown cruise" fairly near home prior to embarking on a more serious cold-weather adventure.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I was looking for a good pair of hiking boots for cold northwest fishing and I believe these are good fit. I have arthritis in both knees so I really have to look hard to find something that is comfortable and meets the challenge of hiking the river banks. I have non-insulated boots that were not meeting the need to keep my feet warm. The added support and comfort were a great bonus.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
Boots were very well insulated and kept my toes very warm in subfreezing temperatures. I had to return the first pair I ordered because they were too small. I recommend going a half size over what is suggested on the sizing chart. They are a little stiff in the ankles, but very warm and water resistant.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I bought these last year looking for an upgrade to my old winter boots. After a full year, they do not leak whatsoever, are plenty warm on cold, wet winter days and serve their intended purpose. I have never been cold or wet with these in Boston, Vermont, Maine or NH on extremely cold skiing days and very wet commutes to work. Highly recommended.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I got these boots about 2 years ago and I have been very dissapointed with them. As you can see from a profile photo of the boot, the cut of the boot rises very fast starting from the toe up to the ankle. This means that when you walk, your heel comes up and down on every step. The way to get around this is to tie the boot very very tight. So then, your ankle can't flex up and down at all. This makes it very hard to drive with these boots on or to just walk comfortably. With my job, I get in and out of cars all day long and am trudging through snow/slush, so I can't change in and out of the boots whenever I need to drive. I would like to return them.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
Very disappointed, as my feet are uncomfortably and always cold in these boots, even when returning indoors. I don't know if that's primaloft or just these boots. Useless & total waste of money.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I used the boots for work last winter. I work for Fedex so I am in the weather most of the time. I had use the boots less than 3 months I wore them every day when it was -10 for almost a week. My feet where freezing the whole time, the right boot leaked water and there where rips in the tounge of each boot, the bottoms where looked like I had them for three years. I only worked 6 hours a day so not a whole lot of wear on them.[...]

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I bought these boots 2 years ago for snowshoeing in the Cascades and thought they were great the first time I used them. I had to wear a very thin pair of socks because the boots were a little bit snug but were so warm I didn't need heavy socks. Only real complaint is that the boots take a little while to dry from getting damp on the inside from sweat.

Comments about The North Face Baltoro 400 II Winter Boots - Men's:
I was looking for a warm, durable boot that would be a good, all-weather boot for those early morning dog walks. They are a little stiff, but I think they'll break in over time. I own several North Face products and I am again impressed by the design and quality of their products.
