Comments about Baffin Impact Extreme Winter Boots - Women's:
I was a bit worried at first as these boots have foam padding that 'hugs' the foot making it feel snugger than pac-boots generally do. They aren't really tight, just different and they actually have room for THICK winters socks. The way the boots fit close to the foot means there is no 'thunk' 'thunk' as you walk--unusual in a pac boot. I find when I run, I don't have to curl my toes to hold my boots in place. When it's time to slip them off...they come off, the liner stays in the boot and my socks stay on my foot! Buckles can be adjusted easily with gloves/mittens on. These seem a tiny bit lighter than my old Sorel Glacier boots, but it could be the snugger fit making me think so. The footprint of the boot (length and width) is slightly more than the same-size Sorels, however I don't notice it at all when I wear them. At times I ride in heated vehicles with boots on. The Impacts handle moisture well, not getting that sweaty, wet-footed feeling that's bad news in cold temperatures. Yes, they are warm, but I expected that...the rest is gravy. I'm *SO* spoiled!

Comments about Baffin Impact Extreme Winter Boots - Women's:
I bought these site-unseen after my old boots let me down in December. I purchased these only knowing that I needed snow boots, but not knowing when I would need them. I based my purchase on the cold-weather rating and the feedback from one wearer. I live in Maryland and I have walked through more snow in the last 72 hours than I have in my entire life and my feet are dry, warm, and comfortable. These boots are so easy to get in and out of and I was even able to put my orthotics inside of them. I have never been happier.

Comments about Baffin Impact Extreme Winter Boots - Women's:
I purchased these as a gift for my spouse who wears an 8.5 in Merrell. Ordered up to a 9 after reading reviews. Weren't they something!!! What comfort! Tag reads that they have 8 layers of insulation and they fit her foot perfectly.
Unfortunately, they are going back. Her heel slipped out a good 2" with each step. It may be due to the "L"-shaped nature of the boot, but despite tightening the buckles around the ankle and the snug forefoot fit, the heels slipped out. No way that would be functional on a snowshoe, or even to shovel the driveway. As a health professional with a good deal of training in closed kinetic chain biomechanics, you are asking for an unexpected fall in these boots as you try to compensate for the heel slide during gait. Find shoes that fit your heel. At this price, you can! I love my Baffin clogs, by the way!

Comments about Baffin Impact Extreme Winter Boots - Women's:
These boots are great. They look absolutely HUGE on my feet, but they are much lighter than expected, and far more flexible. The inside is a thick layer of soft, spongy insulation that cradles the foot like a giant slipper. I have taken these boots down to -30F, and my toes were completely warm, even when standing still. The cuffs have a built in gator with a drawstring that can make the boot quite a bit taller, up over the knee for me (I'm 5'3). These boots have seen a lot of use with all of the snowstorms we've had in Alaska this year.

Comments about Baffin Impact Extreme Winter Boots - Women's:
The whole series (Baffin Arctic Series) has the exact same shoe area. Same fit. All very stiff all the way to the top. Because of this, there is no flex at the ankle OR sole so there are issues with BIG heel slip.
The ankle area is quite wide making strapping tight impossible so there are folds/buckle to the shell.
My heel felt like it was coming up 'inches' despite the boot being a 1/2 size too small.
I've tried all the others in this series and the Nunavut is better with heel slip but not much. If I was going with the Impact - I'd take a hard look at the Musher because that has a hidden gaiter at the top that's approx. 4-5" tall which would go to just below the knee and add several inches to the boot for snow.
Darn it, I really wanted to like these but they are impossible in every way. I do appreciate the much smaller footprint/boot area of these compared to Sorel Glacier. The Baffin shoe section is the same size as Sorel Snowlions which I'm going to go with and upgrade their warmth factor. WHY can't Baffin, Sorel, etc. make a warm boot that focuses warmth in the actual foot area vs. ankle shin AND make them less like concrete blocks.
These are all really snow machine boots if you ask me.
