REI Acme pants provide a great micro-climate for sports that are strenuous and movement intensive.

  • They thrive in nearly all weather except for hot/humid conditions; think trekking, mountain biking, mountaineering and backcountry skiing and packing
  • Schoeller® Dryskin fabric offers excellent breathability, minimizing sweaty build-up during sustained vigorous activity
  • It also provides great wind-, water- and abrasion-resistance and four-way stretch comfort
  • Durable Water Repellent finish causes water to bead up and roll off, fending off light rain showers and snow
  • Features jeans-style waistband with belt loops, zipper fly and button closure
  • Fully gusseted crotch and articulated knees allow great range of motion
  • Lower leg zippers with gussets and narrow bonded tab closures ease getting pants on and off
  • Double-needle stitching increases durability

      Took these pants on a 21 mile backpacking trip where we had to climb over, under, or around approx 180 trees. These pants got drug across bark and snags. Not a hole or tear anywhere. Plus they breath wonderfully. Keep your temp regulated and move in any direction you do. I will be purchasing more when I can afford them.

        I recently visited the REI store in St. Louis close to the Galleria Mall and bought some of these pants. I currently own the Patagonia Alpine Guide Pants, REI Mistral Pants and The North Face Apex Randonee Pant. Out of my current collection, the Patagonia are the best in terms of quality and performance. Now that I have the REI Acme Pants I would rank them as high as the Patagonia Alpine Guide pants. The Acme pants are a little rougher feeling to help with being abrasion proof. They feel great, look great and fit great. Well worth the [$]I paid because these things will last a long time. Great job REI!

          WOW! I couldn't find "motorcycle" pants to fit me that would A) have room for body armor underneath, B) provide some protection/durability, C) have rain resistance, D) breathable, and E) provide comfort while riding. These pants are amazing. And, contrary to the comment they aren't the best in high heat/humidity, I have found them to be better than anything else with this much of ABCDE. I have ridden through rain (not a downpour, but enough to warrant rain pants), and I was just fine. Put my rain jacket on, but didn't need the rain pants, I save them just for riding, but I am tempted to wear them all the time, they are so comfortable. Worth the money, and look brand new even after 10 washings. P.S. I'm a girl.
