Comments about REI Triad Parka - Men's:
I purchased and returned two other jackets before settling in on the Triad. The great features are that the shell worn alone is great for moderately cool weather. The cuffs have elastic (along with the velcro) so the jacket's sleeves fit well and is easy to take off (other jackets w/o elastic in the cuffs, not so much). The two pieces worn seperately are each useful. When worn together they are extremely warm! The only down side is that the fit is a little snugg when the full jacket is worn with a heavy sweater. However, if you wear heavy clothing underneath you can purchase an insulated zip-in vest and that gives you better freedom of movement and still keeps you insulated. One very minor annoyance is that the velcro along the zipper storm flap seems to slightly grab the jacket when you pick it up to put it on (will this result in material pulls over time?). Overall a very good jacket that meets a wide range of needs.

Comments about REI Triad Parka - Men's:
I wanted a jacket that was waterproof and could handle temperatures from 0-30 Fahrenheit. This jacket definitely can do both. I have taken it camping and snowshoeing so far and have had temperatures down to 10 degrees with only a t-shirt underneath and have been plenty warm. The fact that the liner zips out is excellent for day time when the sun is out. Both pieces are also aesthetically pleasing so I can wear them out if necessary. Another bonus is that there are a ton of pockets to stash whatever I may need to stash. The only downside would be that if you are only wearing the shell there are no pit vents. Aside from that I am stoked with the jacket and have no complaints!

Comments about REI Triad Parka - Men's:
I bought this jacket for a multi-purpose winter/rain/cold weather jacket, as well as for my trips to the mountain for snowboarding. Yesterday, I spent an entire day up at Mt Baker snowboarding (first time snowboarding, so I might have spent more time *in* the snow than on it!). Regardless, not once did I feel cold or wet, even after 6 hours in the snow (it was about 25 degrees).
I love the zip-out liner (I also own the Muir Woods Fleece Jacket -- a great buy, as well) and the versatility of a 3-in-1 jacket such as this.
One downside is that it is difficult to use the zippers with bulky gloves...

Comments about REI Triad Parka - Men's:
This jacket is a little high in price, but is well worth the investment. I use it for work, which I often do a lot of outside training. It protects me against the elements (wind, rain, cold air). Also, I wear it out on the town with casual attire. It looks great and is versatile.
