The Arctic down parka combines the full-length protection of a trench coat with the weather resistance you've come to expect from The North Face.

  • Nylon twill shell fabric is soft to the touch and resists abrasion
  • Hyvent™ multilayer polyurethane coating provides waterproof protection, breathability and durability
  • Seams are sealed for complete weather protection
  • Insulated with 550-fill-power goose down for a high warmth-to-weight ratio; it's the lightest, warmest and most compressible insulation available
  • Polyester taffeta lining slides on easily over layers and wicks away moisture to keep you dry
  • Insulated hood sports a sassy (and detachable) faux-fur trim; hood drawcord secures the fit
  • Adjustable snap-closure cuffs seal in warmth
  • Includes two zippered handwarmer pockets, two zippered chest pockets and an internal media pocket; one hand pocket sports a key clip

      The brushed nylon shell attracted every piece of lint you passed by, I bought the black coat and returned it after a week because of this problem. Otherwise the coat was great. I'm going to purchase the Marmot coat that looks similar to this one with hopes the the fabric is better

        I mostly wear this coat to work, but would be comfortable wearing it for just about any occasion if the weather warranted it. I really like the length, especially when wearing longer sweaters. The style of this coat is really nice -- it doesn't look like a mattress pad (like most down coats). I'm a size 4, and I think this is as slimming as you can get for this type of coat. I bought the black, and I don't think the lint shows any more on this than other coats I own of the same color. It's warm, especially with the Arctic winds that we get here! A couple of other features I like is that the hood is generous and its faux fur trim is detachable.

        I washed the coat according to instructions only to be totally disappointed to find the down all "balled" up in the coat. It retained a dark color and never returned to its original look.

          This looked great in the picture and catalog, but didn't measure up in real wear. Way to bulky and stiff, very uncomfortable. It will make you feel 10 lbs. heavier! The North Face Metropolis turned out to be a much more comfortable feel, and attractive look.

            This jacket is not only comfortable, but warm and well fitted. The clasp in the back allows you to adjust the jacket to give it a more feminine look. I would recommend this to my friends and anyone in cold east coast weather. This jacket is not as bulky as other Northface products. I get so many complements on the adorable fur around the hood!
