Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
I used this for a while to track my steps over a day -- target was 10,000 steps. I'll credit the device with keeping an accurate count -- I sure did not have any way of double checking. But the first problem is this - separating daily walking to and from the car and around the office from a daily power walk. I had to record the numbers before and after the power walk to get the numbers for the power walk. A lap or trip feature would have been real nice.
One of the main reasons for getting this particular device was the upload feature. You can upload the daily results and you only need to do that once a week. But I did not find this feature very helpful in practice. One significant limitation is the inability to export the results to say a spreadsheet for integration with other workouts.
The biggest problem, however, was the frequency with which the battery had to be replaced.
And the reason I no longer have mine is that the belt clip fell off one day and I was unable to find the device.
I would recommend buying something less expensive that can give you the basic information without the headaches.

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
Love this pedometer. I use it on a daily basis trying to get my 10,000 steps in (hard to do at my sit-down job). It is accurate and easy to use and being able to see my progress on the computer is great motivation - I'm very competitive with myself. I had a brief issue with it re-setting itself to midnight at random times but it seems to have corrected itself - not bad if that's my only problem after 2 years. I do wish that it worked with running - I can run 7 miles and it will say I did about 4 but it seems to track those steps better at lower mileages.

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
After reading the other reviews, I was concerned that the pedometer would fall out of a pocket or off of a belt loop; I don't know if this is something that has changed since the original packaging, but the pedometer comes with a strap and an extra clip, so you can double-secure it. With it clipped to a belt and using the extra strap, I haven't had any trouble with losing it. All of the upsides that others talked about are here as well: it's easy to use, it's fantastically accurate, and the software is exactly what it needs to be: they took the time to engineer a nice user interface, but it doesn't try to be anything it isn't. You don't have to waste time with strange mostly-useless features, it's so intuitive it takes less time to figure out how it works than it takes to install (and it's a really quick little install, even on a laptop). The ability to store so much information means that, even if you go on a long trip, you can still track your data when you get back. The battery lasts a good long while, and it's one of the easiest batteries to find at a regular retail store. All in all, a great device, and the software is worth the extra money.

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
I've been using this Omron pedometer for about four months, and I love it. It's very accurate and easy to use. I haven't had any problems with the software, and the downloads work fine on my Dell PC with Vista. The plastic lanyard clip did break, but I simply replaced it with a small binder clip and everything is fine. Plus, when I wear jeans, which is often, I put the unit in the small change pocket that most men's jeans have on the front right hip and it works great there, too.

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
I love the accuracy and the ability to have an historical record and to be able to plot the history.Concur with previous comment - The clip is too short for Western Style belts.I have now lost two of these for that reason. The first one was a gift, the second one I had bought because I liked the first one so much. Neither one of them lasted longer than 3 months. The last one fell off when my wife and I walked up the hill to cut down a Christmas tree. We are hoping that we will be able to find it after the snow melts. The biggest problem has been in trying to download data. I was able to get two down loads in the past. However, since then, when I have started a download process on a PC, it would start the process and then give me an error message. I had called the company and they had me download a new driver. It did no good. Since it only contains a short history on the device itself, I have lost a lot of information that I was interested in. I also tried to download to a Mac Book. I was told that even though I had the Microsoft for Mac software suite, that it was not compatible. The device is expensive and although it is very accurate, I am not willing to spend another [$] until these two items (belt clip and downloading software) are remedied.

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
Use product EVERYDAY, all day. Track every step to get to my 10,000 step daily minimum. The unit is very easy to use and holds 7 days of data (steps, calories, aerobia steps, and total aerobia minutes). Software is easy to load and set up for multiple or one unit. Price range varies, so shop around. Also, get a safety pin to hold it because the clasp is not very good. lost my first unit when the clasp broke off, Otherwise, this is a VERY GOOD unit.

This pedometer makes it very easy to consistently track my progress on exercising more often and for a longer duration. It's easy to set up to download the data to your computer. The tracking aspect keeps me motivated and helps me know how much I've accomplished!

Comments about Omron Pocket Pedometer with Health Management Software:
This is the most accurate pedometer out there with an outstanding software program for tracking daily effort. However, my wife and I each own one but continually lose them as they fall off your belt because the supplied clip is so poorly designed as not to allow attachment to a 1 1/2 wide belt. Recommend modification of the clip by super gluing an extension to lengthen the moveable clip arm. This would change the clip from its "slip clip" reprutation to a real on the trail "grip clip".
