Comments about Candle Lantern LED Upgrade:
I actually don't own the candle lantern that this light attaches to, but it has a great dual use as a tent light for UL backpacking in a smaller sized tent. If you have any kind of pocket on the top inside of your tent, you just slide it in the pocket (I use the REI Quarterdome T2 tent). At just 1.4 ounces, it's lighter and smaller than any lantern or flashlight that I've found, and it directs the light downward exactly where you need it. I prefer it over using my headlamp within the tent because the light beam isn't as focused and it lights up a larger area. It also allows me to conserve my batteries in my headlamp. This light is great for reading, playing cards, etc. It can also be used as a flashlight when making trips outside the tent after dark. All around, I've found it to be the perfect lighting solution for my UL backpacking needs and highly recommend it!

This is great if you like to hang your lantern inside your tent but worry about the flame. It's perfect for reading or writing at night inside the tent. The install is very simple, and the light is very bright. It fits right to the bottom of your candle lantern, so it doesn't take up any extra space, and it doesn't add any noticeable at all! All around great product. If you don't have a lantern already get the combo pack. My dad has had one of these lanterns for YEARS and he added one a few weeks ago thinking I hadn't seen it.

I was looking for a lantern for the inside of my tent and came across this little gem. Like kmc7 I don't have the lantern this is meant to upgrade but after reading that review I decided to take the leap. This is truly the perfect tent light for a lightweight/solo backpacker. It's not super bright so you don't get blinded but the glow it produces is ample enough to read by. I use only the clear section and hang it in my Quarterdome T1 from one of the overhead fabric loops. Conveniently, there is a small medal stand (just visible in the picture) that folds out from the back of this section and it is detachable in order to slide through a loop. The operation is simple and the on/off switch is so easy to operate by feel that a caveman could do it! Do yourself a favor and buy at least two!
