The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Kinetic Road Machine Fluid Bike Trainer:
This trainer is everything it is billed to be; quiet, stable, progressive resistance. Kurt Kinetic claims its unique feature is its leak-proof design. After several hundred miles, i have had no problems, and have not had to test their claim.
It is quiet, stable, and the harder you spin, the harder the resistance. Coast-down is not as long as claimed, but this could be due to the tension the wheel is under, as well as the variable flyweights available.
All in all, super quality, and the most realistic indoor ride I have found yet. highly recommended.

Comments about Kinetic Road Machine Fluid Bike Trainer:
I bought it to help rehab my knee after ACL reconstruction. Both my sons and I have enjoyed riding on it because the resistance simulates road riding well, and shifting gears changes the nature of the workout from a gentle jaunt to a hard core sprint. With a Kinetic riser ring, the bike feels stable but responsive. The trainer folds up so it's easy to move and store, but is ruggedly constructed & has a lifetime warranty. It can adjust to a very wide range of wheel diameters, but once you've adjusted it to your bike, it's very quick and easy to mount and remove the bike from the axle clamps. They thoughtfully provide a quick release skewer, so if your have an exotic ultralight skewer, it won't be damaged by the clamp.

Great trainer. I have owned a half dozen trainers over the years and this company's are the best. The Pro model and Rock N Roll are also very good. Very quiet, reliable and this company lives up to it's warranty!
Two thumbs up

Purchased as a first trainer and am completely satisfied with quality and performance. Friends, store employees, and i-net reviews pushed me this way, trying it in the store sold it. Highly recommend purchasing a riser to keep your front end stable.

This is an awesome trainer. Enough said...
Now on to my review: My GF has a Cyclops Mag+ Trainer and that thing is loud! compared to it the Kinetic is worth the extra $$. I was sold on the "no leak" Guarantee, as seeing how paying more for a quality product is worth it in the long run. Inet research on comparing this to the Cyclops Fluid Trainer(s) showed that this was the better choice, even at the premium. Lots of complaints about leaking with the Fluid Trainer. Also, paying more is just more motivation to use the product that you've just spent an absurd amount of money on.
This trainer is everything the marketing department says it is. Great progressive resistance, great feel, and easy to adjust the tension. The trainer is stable, however if you are using a road skewer for convenience please be warned your bike might come off. I've only had problems while on a bike with a plastic skewer, while using a ZIPP skewer the bike is stable (the skewer that comes with the trainer is on another family member's bike, it was rather annoying to change skewers every time I wanted to use it).
The "coast down" feature is not what they say it is, Kinetic claims that it's roughly 30 sec or so, but it's more like 10-15 second. But that doesn't matter.
It's great to have, if you are pressed for time and can't get out of the house for a ride, a 30min interval work out on this feels like a hard 1hour effort on the road. Albeit nothing compares to "real road" training (benefits like core stability, handling, cornering, etc), this trainer is good at building and supplementing pedaling strength and power. After all this is a "trainer" and as such should be use to supplement training. Not replace it.
Convenience is a huge plus and this does not disappoint. Some Pro Triathletes do a bulk of their cycling training on indoor trainers and have excellent results. e.g. Andy Potts.
p.s. Just by having this trainer is not going to make you as fast as Potts, but it would get you that much closer... I hope...
Thanks for reading.
Cheers,
H.T.

This is my first trainer and it is GREAT. It was very easy to set up and feels stable during a ride. I was a bit concerned about noise (I live in a high-rise condo), but find the noise level acceptable for 530/600 am when people are getting up and starting their day.

Comments about Kinetic Road Machine Fluid Bike Trainer:
This is a great unit for working indoors when you can't get on the real road. The only problem I had, as another reviewer mentioned, is that the L-Bolt with spring is too wide to fit properly next to some screw they have tapped to keep the L-Bolt from sliding out of the unit. That's a frustrating and goofy thing to mess up on an otherwise top-notch piece of equipment. I took that screw out and flipped it, not perfect but I got it together that way.

Comments about Kinetic Road Machine Fluid Bike Trainer:
Might be a bit premature for a review since I haven't put it together.
The box seemed to be completely sealed, but when I opened it the bag was torn and everything was covered in paint flecks, metal shavings, dust, and dirt.
None of the decals were stuck on properly, some folded, all bubbled, all had dirt/shavings under the edges, some not lined up.
Paint chipped off in numerous places around the unit. The welds under the horizontal pieces that hold the skewers are very lumpy and inconsistent with holes and gaps in random spots.
I'd almost question whether this was used, returned, and sold as new, or perhaps that it was a cheap Chinese counterfeit.
Except it says it is built in China already (on one of the poorly attached stickers).
The design looks very solid (heavy, actually) but the materials/assembly are cruddy.
Taking back tomorrow and hoping that this unit was an anomaly. Will update the review if the next unit is better.
