The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Women's:
I got these gloves after reading the reviews for them. They sounded like they'd be warm enough for bike riding in the relatively mild Oregon winters, but I am amazed at how NOT WARM they are. I never expected these to suit me in single digit or subzero weather, but I felt like they should have been sufficient for bike rides in 35-45 degree weather. I see that most people found them warm enough, but the only thing amazing about these is how it feels like I'm wearing nothing. Thank goodness REI has a forgiving return policy.

I've had these gloves for the past two years and I lost one yesterday. They are great for cooler weather but when it gets COLD (30F and under is cold to me) these aren't good. I walk a 1/2 mile to and from work every day to hop on mass transit. Not windproof, and I can feel the chill thru the gloves. I have to stuff my hands in my pockets to keep them warm. However, if I wear them as a liner and put on heavier gloves they are great, but I'm a bulky mess.
I will probably buy another pair today but will also buy something else to keep my hands warm.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Women's:
I bought these to use while dayhiking in some areas that I expected to be cold due to altitude or time of day. (They replaced a pair of thin polartec gloves that I had to throw away after getting a bunch of cactus spines stuck in them!) Tried on a lot of women's gloves at the local REI store - these had the best fit and weight for what I was looking for. I knew that I would not need to wear gloves much on this summer vacation and wanted a lightweight pair that I could slip on and off as needed, and didn't want them to take up a lot of room in my pack. I also knew that I would not encounter anything much colder than 30s and kept that in mind as well.
I didn't have too many occasions to wear these on my recent trip, but when I did they kept my hands warm and did not interfere with using my DSLR camera. I felt warmer even without using a heavy jacket just because my hands were not cold.
If I changed anything about these, I would include a grip area - not sure how well these will do for driving due to the lack of any type of grip. But the lack of grip did not affect my use of camera or grasping other objects such as my water bottle. Since I live in a warm climate, it will be a long time before I will get the opportunity to try them out while driving. If they work for that, it will be a bonus because I purchased them primarily to use for dayhiking and am satisfied with them for that purpose.

I've worn holes in 2 pairs in less than 2 seasons each. I used them solo and as liners for winter hiking/camping, snowshoeing, mountaineering, etc., and keep my nails short. The first pair developed a hole at the index finger; the second pair, the thumb. It's disappointing; the fit was great for me (hence the second pair), but I won't buy these again. My husband has had similar issues but hasn't given up on them yet, while someone else we know has decided to switch. I can't be bothered to keep stitching them up, and would not recommend them based on the lack of expected durability from this product/brand.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Women's:
I was looking for comfortable, warm gloves for running in the winter, but never used them for running as I was given a pair of New Balance running gloves as a present, so felt obligated to use those instead. I did bring these gloves to Patagonia with me and was extremely pleased that I did. Not only did they keep my hands warm and dry during downpours on various hikes, they also blocked out the infamous windy conditions in Patagonia. They are extremely light and dry off very quickly. I normally do not write reviews, but this glove is just that good.

I bought these gloves in January 2010 and used them for less than two months. In November 2010 I took them out and started wearing them again, for early December the right hand had a hole in the tip of my thumb, and for late December both of them had it... They did not last a complete winter...

I have never been more disappointed in a gloves. These gloves did not protect my hands from the wind and cold. My fingers were aching while riding my bike to work this morning. I plan on returning these gloves.

Bought gloves before Thanksgiving car camping trip with the family. They kept my hands warm and dry in the North GA mountains. The temperature dipped below freezing. They worked so well that my husband requested a pair for Xmas. We have the same size hand and they fit perfectly on his.
