The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
I've owned a similar power stretch glove made by Marmot, and I really liked them, but they have been hard to find lately. So I picked up a pair of these. They fit great, and the power stretch material provides good warmth for what it is and how thin and light they are. I also like the snaps that MH incorporates to keep the gloves paired.
The first thing I noticed is how bad these gloves fray. Especially along the fingertips and along the seams. Once they catch on velcro they frey. So I question the durability over time.
Other than that, they perform pretty well.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
Snug fit helps keep you warm, which is a good thing, because the fabric won't. Good in a cold car, but wind goes right through them outside. Not very durable, a seam split and the fabric pills easily.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
I've had two of these. The first, the stitching on one of the fingers wore out in about 2 days. I got another pair (REI gladly took them back)running on the premise that all of my previous MH gear is bulletproof, maybe this is just the 1% that slipped by. Sadly, the second pair also had stitching that wore out--in about a month this time (an improvement, yes). I mostly wear them in the winter as light gloves for normal travels, nothing technical or exciting.
While they are comfortable, a 1mph wind cuts through them like butter, they get wet quickly and don't dry very quickly (just get to a level of almost dry dampness which is annoying). I still use them as a back up but these really aren't the product to get. Spend a couple extra dollars--these aren't what I would expect from MH.

Bought these in November of '07. They've been decent gloves but have worn out quickly. I have two holes in the right hand and one hole in the left. The Mountain Hardware logos have pretty much peeled off as well.

You get what you pay for: I only buy these under $15 on off-season sales, and I expect them to wear out in a year from easy use. But they are great for early morning walking in the teens and even down to zero: as long as you are exerting yourself, they cut through the chill and keep the fingertips from numbing-out. It's poly, it's going to pill; but the seams hold. I'm buying two more pair.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
I have worn these gloves for quite some time, and mostly they are the simple everyday gloves. I use them for walking the dog, driving, being out when it's chilly, etc... They are not completely wind proof, but do offer good protection for a hour or so; any longer and I pull out the all weather glove. They are great as liners for any type of ski glove.

Very good fit and comfortable. I bought them to replace smartwool gloves and use as a liner in a shell. I think they are not as warm. I would give a 3.5 if I could but not a 4

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
I have used these for several years as causual, daily cold weather gloves. Primairily for walking my dog, hiking, driving and general all around use. The down side is they do pil and wear out so I buy a new pair yearly or bi yearly. I just lost my current pair and am headed to REI for a replacement. I did try the North Face e-tip gloves and they were absolutely worthless as far as warmth. So Im sticking with these.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
I purchased these gloves for an early spring trip to the UK. I wanted something comfortable and warm for urban and suburban wandering and such. Nothing extreme.
While these gloves are comfortable, they're really not warm at all. Even in damp 50 degree F weather, my hands were cold. And the wind whips right through them.
That's bad enough, but after the third day, the fingers and seams started to fray and wear - just from lugging around a messenger bag and simple tourist activities. Also, the tag on the inside of the glove is really itchy on the base of your hand. I would recommend yanking it out ASAP.
Finally, you'll want to try this glove on before buying. I have large hands and always wear a large glove. I'm a medium in this one. Odd.
This glove would make an OK liner, if they reduce the price. I have to be honest however, this is my second pair of Mountain Hardware gloves, and I have not been impressed at all. I hope they get their act together in the accessory department.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Power Stretch Gloves - Men's:
The gloves serve a 1-2 year life span as a liner and basic use glove. They do not hold up well to ski edges and will get cuts while seams will split. After about 18 months they are typically covered in tape and replaced at 24 months.
I still like these over other gloves due to general warmth, weight, and simplicity. The cuffs are what I seek in a liner and basic use glove.
Major CON - the fastener to clip the gloves together is at the point on the glove that some ski poles touch. The clip causes irritation when used as a liner at times and cutting the piece off resolves this.
