Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
rated best uva/uvb protection and lowest toxicity of 1500 tested sunscreens by cosmeticsdatabase [...]Tell the FDA to implement standards for sunscreens, a lot of the top brands don't work and/or are proven toxic (like oxybenzone, which creates brith defects)

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
I wholeheartedly agree with the reviewers who cited the Environmantal Working Group's cosmetology database. When it's ranked third best for both safety and effectiveness, hard to go wrong.
Have used this for years backpacking at 7,000 to 10,000 feet in the Sierras, and recently used in Big Bend NP in Texas. I also use for hot, Texas golf and yard work.
Word to the wise for new users: use far less per square inch than other products you're used to or it will take hours for the zinc oxide "white face" to absorb. Because of this, a tube lasts 4 times as long for better protection. But I find one application lasts an entire day in the sun, sweat doesn't seem to affect it at all.
If you like "all natural" products, read the label and party down. Also see ewg.org and link to the suncreen database to find more info.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
I have tried numerous non-toxic sunscreens and this is the best I have found. It works well, it smells good, and it is less whitening than the rest. The price is darn good in comparison to others too.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
I'll buy it because of the high rating in the Skin Deep cosmetics database. It does contain nanoparticles to achieve good UVA/B protection(the micronized zinc oxide) so consider keeping it off of cuts or abrasions. I'd prefer no nanoparticles b/c of the unknowns but there doesn't seem to be a better option.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
I looked for years for a facial sunscreen that wouldn't run into my eyes and sting like a sonofagun (I'm a copious sweater). I too read the listings last year and thought I'd try this because of its high ranking (and it didn't price itself out of contention). Results:
It works; it REALLY does.
It stinks; it REALLY stinks, but that eventually goes away.
It doesn't seem to matter how much or little you apply, you still look like you're auditioning for "Thriller". My experience is that this doesn't change (I've been using it for a full year now). I'm trying to mix it with a little make-up, but my skin still takes on a grayish/white cast.
If results are all you care about -- effective sunblock, natural ingredients, sweatproof -- get this stuff.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
Based on reviews, I bought this for my fair-skinned husband for a kayaking trip to Baja, Mexico a few years ago (2008). What a terrible mistake. This stuff does not rub in well at all! We (tried) reapplying throughout the day but due to the inability to rub this into our skin (it seems to kind of clump and not disperse when rubbing) both of us burned especially my poor husband who actually blistered! Badger Sunblock completely failed to protect us and instead aided in harming us. Two years later, we went to Baja again and used Neutrogena Ultrasheer 70 and their Wet skin spray 85 and were thankfully well protected and did not burn.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
Absolutely horrible. I bought this for a major trek thinking it would be a good product, but ended up throwing it out after a few days and a sunburn. It absolutely doesn't rub in, it's a white, sticky mess, and if you are doing any serious exercise it runs and does not provide protection. I am very happy with the drugstore brand that replaced it. Please do not buy this product, it does not provide sun protection and it is truly horrible. I am ashamed of REI for carrying it.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
Provides very effective sun protection and is very water resistant. Even small amounts go on thick and leave a white residue that doesn't seem to absorb into the skin. Would recommend for long days in the sun where multiple applications of sunscreen is not desired or possible due to activity.

Comments about Badger Face and Body SPF 30 Sunblock:
I bought this to use on my baby and was really pleased with its performance! It doesn't have all of the possibly harmful chemicals found in the majority of other sunscreens, and doesn't leave you looking white when it sinks in after application, like some of the other safe sunscreens do.
It protected my baby from any sun damage when we needed to be out in the sun during the 10am-2pm range. For the others who have complained about its ineffectiveness, they might consider protecting themselves with upf clothing during that timeframe.
My husband and I will be using this as our sunscreen going forward too!
