Comments about Mountain Hardwear Piero Pants - Men's:
Great soft front pockets and multi use pockets. soft inner wast lining. sculptures to your body well with out binding or having a shapless look. better texture and color than canvas or khaki pants. Wish it came in black color. please tell them to make some in black. They would be perfect for winter sports / Alpine night life. These are great for martial arts too.

Comments about Mountain Hardwear Piero Pants - Men's:
I didn't like the sound of these pants when reading the description - I envisioned something chafing and armor-like, allowing for a minimum of motion range. I pictured starched burlap. I was way wrong. These pants quicky became my favorites. The material is just slightly stretchy, allowing for more range of motion than regular material. It's not rough at all, and the soft stuff that Mountain Hardwear has placed around the important places (pockets, waist, etc) makes sure there is no chafing. There are plenty of pockets and loops to stow gear (but note that only the smallest of the 6 pockets is secured by a zipper). The waist cut is a little low, but I got used to it quickly. Partly due to the stretch of the material, the waist fit is too big. Err on the side of caution when sizing these pants: I purchased the 38 for my 38+ waist, and had to buy a belt to keep the pants on. I should have gone with the 36 inch waist. Although it feels good to be able to buy a pair of 36's and fit into them again, I know I haven't really earned it :)
Water beads off of these pants beautifully. My pair is still relatively new, but has gone through many washes and still retains water repellency. They seem very durable and not prone to snags or runs. I would definitely recommend them for anything from casual around town to extended multi-day trips. I think they can handle slide alders during the day and spilled drinks the same night.

These are my 2nd favorite pants, once they get back from the tailor I am sure that they will move up to #1. My only problem with then is that they were only available in a Regular which is typically 32" inseam. I only have a 30" inseam so they were long. This is not an uncommon problem for me and thankfully these have no zippers or anything to be in the way for the tailor to fix.
As far as durability I think only a true canvas pant would hold up longer. The fleece waist band is also a nice feature.

These pants held up to the abuse of desert climbing. After climbing offwidths at Indian Creek there are no signs of wear. I bought another pair because I liked them so much.
